MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

CAT ART SUNDAY

(Click to BIGAFY any photo)

Today I want to introduce you to Frau Melanie and Frau Jemima. They are very old, older than any one of us kitties, and come from Heidelberg Germany. They are a Victorian Art Doll called a Topsey~Turvey Doll. Not Siameezer twins hee hee!

Frau Melanie is wearing a traditional Bavarian dress with an apron called a DIRNDL. Frau Jemima is ready for the frying pan wearing her Lanz of Salzburg eyelet night dress.

Mommy fell in love with this dolly! When she found her, she saw that the dress Frau Melanie was wearing was made of the same fabric that the curtains in her cottage were at the time!
Hope everykitty has a wonderful Sunday!

A FRAGRANT GARDEN SOIREE

Mickey my handsome gentleman caller from a far away land

The marigold corsage he brought for my wrist

My cheeks glisten like this begonia bloom when I see him

My heart is at ease when I am in his company

"Nature 27, Autumn " by Emily Dickinson

The morns are meeker than they were,

The nuts are getting brown;

The berry's cheek is plumper,

The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,

The field a scarlet gown.

Lest I should be old-fashioned,

I'll put a trinket on.
(See the trinkets I put on in the post below:)

My heart was so full of happy moments today. A gentleman mancat came from a far away land to stroll the Autumn garden with me. "Before the last blooms fade away" this is what he said when he asked to come. His gift to me was purrrfeect. A selection of blooms from his garden. How could he know these were my favorites from moments past? They made me remember days warm with people I loved so much in a far away land...

We had an unforgetable day in each others company, I sent him home with a bouquet of brilliant maple leaves to honor his country....thank you Mickey

A FASHIONABLE FROOTBAT!

Well are these the coolest earrings that Ann from Zoolatry put on me or what!?
Mommy said I can light up the path when I go strolling in the garden at night. Today I had a handsome gentleman caller come and accompany me on a stroll through my autumn garden. He makes my old kitty heart skip a beat. I will tell about our walk and show you some garden photos on Saturday. A budding romance can tire out an old girl so I will turn in early for my beauty rest. (Lapdaddy thinks I need all the rest I can get!) YAWNnnnnnnnnn......I will visit you when I wake up.....thank you for letting me get some rest, my nose is itchy and I am sneezing and coughing a bit right now.
Love Miss Peach (dreaming of a special gentleman mancat:)

KAREN JO wrote me a splendid limerick! AGAIN!!

Miss Peach is out of her frying pan most of the time now and even got caught up on the table licking the butter in the butter dish. Her Mom was so glad to see her so active and interested again she served Miss Peach some butter on a china dish by her frying pan. Breakfast (almost) in bed. Since Miss Peach is feeling so much better, I thought I would post the limerick I was working on when I found out that she was so sick. Miss Peach is an elderly marmalade Devon Rex with Victorian sensibilities. She loves the finer things in life, like friends and art. She is a very caring kitty and is always on hand to give purrs to those in sorrow or sickness. She is simply one of the sweetest kitties around.
The limerick was inspired by a post about her inviting Adan over for tea and the picture that Michico painted of the occasion.

Miss Peach is a true Victorian lady.

She has nothing to do with anything shady.

So proper and prim,

She has tea on a whim

Outside under a tree cool and shady.
(post and photo are courtsey of Karen Jo & Michico)
THANK YOU so much for all your friendship and kindness
Love Miss Peach >(^,^)<

MY GREATEST HONOR EVER!

This is how mommy feels today! Like a gleeful little girl!
To find out why, please read on and share my blissful mood!!

The "Rose Medallion" is given by us at Rosehaven Cottage to blogs that we find to be of exceptional merit in design and content. The blogs given this honor are those that we have found particular enjoyment, inspiration, and/or insight(s) in reading--blogs that have exhibited a passion for living. We hope that the "Rose Medallion" recipients this week will be pleased to display it on their blog.
Miss Peach's Meowz Featuring the adorable and lovable kitty cat Miss Peach, this blog is a must-read for us on a daily basis. The photography and art (not all "kitty related) is a true joy to view. Many times there is a gem of poetry that makes us come away with a lightness of heart that only really lovely writing can induce.

How can I thank you for this incredible honor...I am humbled

If you want to find out how to get sweet butter

COLE HAD A BIRTHDAY SURPRISE!!!!

It was not this major league baseball jersey either!
It was the player who wears it!!!

Last week my sweet grandbean Cole told my mommy that she would never have to worry about a thing. He was going to grow up and be a Baseball player, make lots of green papers, and play in the World Series someday. This year Cole is off to a good start because he made the All Star Team in his little league! YEAH!!
This weekend Cole had his ninth birthday and it will be one he will never forget!
The surprise guest who came to his house was none other than Detroit Tigers Pitcher Jeremy Bonderman!!!! A little boy in Washington can have big dreams. Happy Birthday Cole!
Well Jeter, what do you think about this??? Cool Huh!!

~Autumn’s Glow~
There is something about autumn
That brings out such earthiness
Gold leaves adorn bushes and trees
Like an artist with a brilliant brush
Once the leaves dry on the trees
Then the wind begins to blow
It’s a special time of year for me
Because I love autumn so
The cold dry air it seems
Prepare the leaves to fall
Mother Nature’s special time
Yes, it’s the best of all
What a dazzling way to end
The year as winter nears
The way leaves let loose
And drop like nature’s tears
Oh yes, I love those golden days
Dreamy with autumn’s glow
It makes me smile because I do
Love the season of autumn so!

I CAME OUT OF THE FRYING PAN TODAY!!!

Well mommy is so happy with me today because I was out of the pan all evening and stayed with her in the cozy parlor. She finally gave me a bath because I smelled like an icky girl from being in sick bay all week long. Then I spent some nice warm time on my fuzzy soft blue blanket in front of the stove! Have a happy weekend and thank you so much for being with me all week. I am a happy lucky old cat indeed!
Lots of love from Miss Peachy

THE GARDEN IS SO PRETTY IN AUTUMN

Come, little leaves,
Said the wind one day;
Come to the meadows
With me and play.
Put on your dresses
Of red and gold;
For summer is past,
And the days grow cold.
Soon as the leaves
Heard the wind's loud call,
Down they came fluttering,
One and all.
Over the meadows
They danced and flew,
All singing the soft
Little songs they knew.
Dancing and flying,
The leaves went along,
Till Winter called them
To end their sweet song.
Soon, fast asleep
In their earthy beds,
The snow lay a coverlet
O'er their heads.

While I still spend all my time sleeping in the frying pan,
I seem to be getting better day by day.
I am so happy with all of your company
that I have been having in my pan...
how could I not get better:)
Love Miss Peach, a lucky happy cat>(^,^)<
