MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

A SERIOUS QUESTION...ABOUT A KITTEN AND A BUTTERFLY

I want to try to infuse a little cat poetry into my weekly posts along with mommies art collages she likes to make. We think in this stressful world we need all the beauty we can find. We will try to bring that to you...we hope to make you smile and maybe even want to come back each week for more PRETTY POETRY... Our first poetry post is dedicated to Pierro and Miles in their Happy Place. They have been showering us with quotable wisdom for years and we are smarter kitties because of it. Thank you for inspiring our new Monday feature!

~A Serious Question~
A kitten went a-walking
One morning in July
And idly fell a-talking
With a great big butterfly.
The kitten's tone was airy,
The butterfly would scoff;
When there came along a fairy
Who whisked his wings right off.
And then, - for it is written
Fairies can do such things,
Upon the startled kitten
She stuck the yellow wings.
The kitten felt a quiver,
She rose into the air,
Then flew down the river
To view her image there.
With fear her heart was smitten,
And she began to cry:"
Am I a butter-kitten?
Or just a kitten-fly?"

CAT ART SUNDAY...CHAT CHANSON

Welcome to Cat Art Sunday. Today I will show you some bright and colorful art we like. The peachy painting is one of mommies favorites as well as the Kliban cats wandering in the woods of grinning cats.
Next we strike up the band!!!

The singers are getting in tune....
Be sure to turn up your speakers. You will not want to miss this concert. It will make you smile! I am sure you will watch it quite a few times. Have a wonderful Sunday and remember to count your blessings and leave a dish of food for the poor kitties...

IF...by Rudyard Kipling

IF
If you can keep your head when all around you
Are losing theirs and tripping over you
If you can find a home when none has found you
And claim their garden, house and bedroom too
If you can wash a mile from any water
And roam without recourse to any map
Unwind from cold and calculating slaughter
By curling on a warm and cosy lap:
If you can fall, and find your feet by falling
If you can sleep, yet keep a watchful brain
If you can wake the dead with caterwauling
Or die yourself, and live to die again
If you can stare for minutes without blinking
And wear for hours on end a dreamy smile
And seem to think – quite undisturbed by thinking –
Through narrowed eyes aglow with secret guile:
If you can make one heap of shredded paper
From books they thought were safely out of reach
And sigh, and sulk, and claw and madly caper
At all attempts to reprimand or teach
If you can force your bleary-headed owner
To let you in and out the door at dawn
And oscillate from socialite to loner
And stare back in again with face forlorn:
If you can walk on shelves and spare the china
Ignore commands but answer to your name
If you can hog the whole of a recliner
Designed to hold the largest human frame
If you can turn to stone for half a minute
And climb a tree in fifteen seconds flat
Yours is the blackbird, nightingale and linnet,
For – after all – you are a cat. My cat.

RUSHING THE AUTUMN SEASON A LITTLE BIT....

This beautiful AUTUMN BOUNTY necklace was a gift to mommy from the old western girl Holly. It ushers in the season perfectly. If you would like to visit her store, go to my sidebar and click on BEHIND THE TIMES. She makes beautiful jewels...
I know there is still one month to go but we are in such an autumn mood at the cozy cottage. We wanted to change the wallpaper and our picture to reflect the glory of the upcoming season. We have even brought out some cozy blankets to use when we take our naps. There is a slight chill in the morning air and the evening feels heavy before the sun sets. Summer is folding up some of her blooms and the berries on the dogwood trees are starting to form. Soon they will be delighting us with their crimson bounty. The birds will be grateful...and we kitties will be happy to watch them enjoy the feast.

THE AUTUMN FAIRY BROUGHT ME SOME MAGIC STICKS...

A little box was waiting for us when we got home yesterday. It had my favorite return address on it from my sweet Auntie Deb (the Autumn Fairy)! Look what she packed inside for me...well she thought I might not want to play with toys...but boy did I prove her wrong! Aren't they just the pretties autumn shades. What a wonderful gifty. I will share them with Buddy and Hunny Bunny...but not till I am all done with them! My Lapdaddy had some eyeball surgery yesterday. Now he has lazer eyes like I do!! We needed to keep the room dark for our evening TCM watching. So we put a candle into the lovely tea cup that Auntie Deb sent to mommy...it gave off such a pretty glow into the room. All was cozy at the cottage...thank you dear thoughtful Auntie Deb for your always purrrrrfect timing.

MORE MEWSINGS FROM THE AUGUST PATIO...

August is half over already and soon our thoughts will be turning to autumn. Someones here already are and her name is mommy. She loves autumn so much and has already prepared a quilty for the day bed in case we get a chilly wind or something silly like that. She folded it over so it is nice and fluffy...then tucked the end open with a watering can thing...silly mommy, that thing is full of holy stars and will never hold any water. She does anything to get me out of the litter girls room box!
I am curious...of course I am...hey I wouldn't be a cat worth my few furs if didn't at least have a tiny peek...inside
OK I will take a better look...
Looking to the left (your right)...
Looking to the right (your left) Then I settled myself down for a long summer's nap...ahhh life is good...autumn will come and the long winter will follow. For now we enjoy the warmth of the waning summer....I wish I could invite all of you to join me here for a little nap and then a spot of tea. Put the kettle on mommy...company is expected!

CAT ART SUNDAY

Hello dear friends...today's Cat Art Sunday features a wonderful artwork we found on Simon's mommies "Nina's Big Store" website!! You can click the picture above to go there. Simon would like that! What do you think of it? Isn't it just the image of me. Well....maybe in my better days when I still had all my teeth and more wavy furs? Oh yes and my eyes are actually green. Like Grizabella...I have seen better days in my youth. But I have never been happier to have the memories I have gathered along life's way! They include all of you, my precious friends.
My Lapdaddy gets to be in my post today because he made some art this week also. This name plaque for a friends special birthday.

(Plus if he sees himself on my bloggie...

he might get the hint that mommy would like to have

the mini me from Nina's Big Store:))

Hee Hee, we are no dumb kitties here at the cozy cottage!)

Hunny Bunny doesn't want to be bothered with the next art work....
HA HA...mommy thinks she is some kind of a watercolor artist. Don't laugh...Lapdaddy was impressed. mommy has always wanted to play with watercolors but never had a clue as to what to do. She was so inspired by Miss Lin's stunning sunset over the seashore that she just had to get her finger wet. As you can tell, she still doesn't have a clue but had great fun trying. She loves to color like a little kid...it shows. So just go for it if it makes you happy and create something fun!
So here I am sleeping on the throw rug out in the Auntie Room...sometimes I throw up on it. That is how it gets its name...I think. Have a happy Sunday!!

KITTY TOY REVIEW...

The Play and Squeak toys arrived and are a very big hit here at the cozy cottage. I think I like them even more than the cats do! Miss Peach being almost 18 is not the biggest player anymore. She seemed only mildly interested being a senior kitty. Our young former feral Hunny Bunny was quite keen on trying to figure out where the little mouse squeaks were coming from. Her ears were constantly radaring in the direction of the peeps. Her sharp claws were quick to catch the critter as I dangled it over her head or pulled it gentle across the carpet. Score Hunny Bunny 1-Mousie 0…enjoyment for mommy, Priceless!
We also took the Play and Squeak critter along with us when we visited our cousin kitty Harley. He is a kitten still and really enjoyed running wildly all over the place after the mousie. The little peeps were of prime interest to him and he wanted to make off with the feathers attached, more than the other kitties.
I highly recommend the Play and Squeak products. They exercise these senses a cat has…sight, sound, taste. After a wild romp with the Play and Squeak, kitty is ready for a well deserved nap.
We keep our Play and Squeak tucked next to the post in the kitchen where it dangles at the ready for any kitty paw that wants to go a few rounds with the peeps critter!
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to review such a great interactive kitty product at the cozy cottage! We think every kitty should have one or two!

WATERS CAN BE RELAXING, FUN AND ETERNAL!!

He leads me beside still water...so I can drink of his goodness... A month in the life of a young boy and the waters he gets into.
This is the greatest relaxing bubble bath ever...even with a cast on!
A great way to end a week at Boys Camp where you don't have much time to shower...
or even care too! This is fun dunking in the mighty Columbia River!
That is Pasco's famous Blue Bridge in the background.
What an awesome splash!

This cleansing is for all eternity!! PRAISE GOD! HALLELUJAH!!!
