MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

THIS FLAG WILL NEVER FLY...NOT EVEN ON THIS FOURTH OF JULY...

GLORY!

But it is alright...take a look!
Between the fields where the flag is planted, there are 9+ miles of flower fields that go all the way to the ocean. The flowers are grown by seed companies. It's a beautiful place, close to Vandenberg AFB. Check out the dimensions of the flag. The Floral Flag is 740 feet long and 390 feet wide and maintains the proper Flag dimensions, as described in Executive Order #10834. This Flag is 6.65 acres and is the first Floral Flag to be planted with 5 pointed Stars, comprised of White Larkspur. Each Star is 24 feet in diameter; each Stripe is 30 feet wide. This Flag is estimated to contain more than 400,000 Larkspur plants, with 4-5 flower stems each, for a total of more than 2 million flowers. Remember this day that freedom is payed for by the crimson flow of those who came before us...those that are on foreign soil now sowing the seeds of freedom that future generations might breathe free....Have a happy and safe FOURTH OF JULY!

WHITE CAT WEDNESDAY...

Oh hello everyone...it is lovely to be out on the patio in the warm breezes that are blowing right now...Miss Peach won't even come inside anymore...she feels safe out here in her sanctuary...she has four chairs to chose from while I sit on top of this table...

Mommy is so stinkin mad at Blogger for not letting her comment on blogs that do not have the traditional old style comment boxes. She keeps getting the catch 22 with the sign in screen after she clicks select profile when she tries to publish her comment on your blogs.... Please know that we are reading your adventures on your blog but just can not seem to comment. Does anyone have this same problem...we would love to know!

DINING AL FRESCO...

Being old has some real good advantages...I get waited on hand and foot...Mommy gives me four blankets at night when I do not want to come in off the patio...and I get to have my dinners served to me wherever I decide to be hungry! I wish I could offer you a bite or two...but being a skinny old girlcat, I need all the yum yum I can get. But to thank you for coming by today I will ask mommy to put on the kettle for some nice fresh catmint tea...so lets have a cuppa...one lump or two?

CAT ART SUNDAY...for BUBBLES

This CAT ART SUNDAY is dedicated to sweet BUBBLES who went to the rainbow bridge this week. SO many of us on the cat blogosphere have purrrred and purrrayed so hard for Bubbles over these months of illness. Bubbles lived with a precious friend of ML...in this world it is hard to lose even one friend. Knowing we will all be together one day makes the pain a bit less...as do the kind understand words of comfort at such a sad time.

SAD SUMMER DAY...goodbye AUNTIE STINKIE

Miss Peach is too sad to meow at anyone today. Her beloved girlfriend Auntie Stinkie went to be with our friends in kitty heaven. At 19 years old, she fought a brave fight through hardships in her early life, into total love in her chosen home with Dr. Tweety and his beans. Blindness could not keep her from her appointed rounds in the garden as her years unfolded... She was a dearest member of Miss Peach and Mickey's wedding party...agreeing to be the Matron of Honor. Our hearts are sad for the passing of this precious friend...until we are called home to all be together... JOHN 14:3 I go and prepare a place for you...

CAT ART SUNDAY...

Just look what mommy found in the junky store! A cute little box with kitties all over the four sides. I am on one side...
My beloved Mickey Moonshine is beside me just around the corner...
My dear friend Cheysuli is playing in the garden around the bend...
and Miss Sassy Taylor is waiting to play ball with me...I am so lucky to have so many fun sides of purrrrrsonality to play with. But what makes it even more fun...I can turn the three sections and make so many funny new combinations of cats! I hope you have a wonderful Sunday. It is still quite chilly for almost being summer. I am sleeping on a chair under four blankets out on the patio...being far from sweaty. Mommy just loves the cool weather and hope it stays until autumn time comes...Lapdaddy thinks she is crazy!

IN A YESTERDAY KINDA MOOD...

Last night I was thinking about the many pretty things that I have in the cozy cottage...the first thing that came to mind was the wonderful gizzy quilt that Junior sent to me for Christmas that first year I was blogging. Here it is with me on top on my 15th birthday...I love it and it still gets used each day. I think of sweet Junior each time I see it...of the fun I had trying to figure out who sent it to me. I love my friends and their kind hearts. Junior's mommy has some sads today, maybe you can go and give her some purrrrrs....

Happy Wednesday...please tell me about something from your yesterdays that you will always remember..

MONET WATERCOLOR BLOSSOMS...

So here are our water colored blossoms we made out of cheap silk flowers...these are purrfect for all your cards or gift tags and not as expensive as store bought ones!

We plucked off three blooms and fastened a brad in their center to hold them. Next we added color from dye ink to the edges by lightly dragging across the pad.

Then we pin to cardboard because the fun part is next and it can be a tad dippy. The flower on the tag is already sprayed and dry... Mommy made a homemade concoction of Glimmer Mist...the real stuff is just toooooo spendy and this works great. Fill a spritz bottle with 2 ounces water and 1 ounce Elmer's white glue, then add a tablespoon (or two if you like a lot of glimmer) of gold powdered pearls (Michael's). Swirl the mixture together to blend...NEVER Shake it as it might clog the sprayer.
Then spritz the blooms and watch the magic unfurl as the colors begin to blend into one another...

The shimmer is so very pretty! The glue makes it stick tight and gives the flower a nice sturdy texture...

Click to biggy and see...

Hope you enjoyed our starving artists cheapskate watercolor blossom tutorial...if you need any questions answered...just ask.

Time for a nap...thanks for visiting...happy crafting!

CAT ART SUNDAY...

The most purrrrrfect cat art in the world is a sleeping kitty...content with her world, this is how Miss Peach spends her days out on the patio...tomorrow we will show you what we did with these silk hydrangea blossoms...all I can say is PURRRRRDY!
This is our cat art for today...a seaweed kitty because summer is here and we always hear the sea calling to us...you already know how much we love the ocean...I am so lucky that I always get to come along whenever we go. ROMEOW...ROMEOW, WHERE ART THOU ROMEOW?

JUNE IS ADOPT A CAT MONTH!

ROMEOW...

Hello dear friends...please rejoice with mommy and me today. I have a new cousin in Hawaii named Romeow...this letter came to delight our hearts. We just wonder who adopted who here! Bless your hearts!!

Hi Karla,
Just wanted to let you know I have a new kitty. He's an orange tabby I named Romeow and a tripod. He was a rescue with a badly injured leg that was brought to my vet who tried his best to save his leg. When it didn't heal, it had to be amputated. They were looking for a good home for him and told me about him. I was very hesitant about adopting a tripod kitty but I fell in love with him. I brought him home on 5/28 and he finally warmed up to me by Sunday night. He is very affectionate and sweet. For a three-legged kitty, he can sure run like a four-legged one. He loves playing chase. It feels so good to have a kitty in my life again. He filled a hole in my heart but Mr. Whiskers will always be in it. I can hug his ashes and still hold him close to my heart. Romeow is very much like Mr. W in that he doesn't purr and has a soft meow. He even retreats to the same places Mr. W did and he has no problem jumping up on the sink to look out the window. Mr. W loved doing that, too.
Life is good again.
Much love and hugs,
Roberta
