EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE...A FAIRYTALE...

A most wonderful surprise came to my bloggy this week!  My beloved Dragonheart, our first friend in the cat blogosphere came and left me a message after being lost to us all for over six years...no one knew what happened to him and his bother Merlin.  Like a fairy tale...out of the blue...he was here leaving me a message.

Dragonheart is the reason we began this blog and one day I dreamed of having a little Sphinx kitty in my arms...now we have Miss Hope and Dragon heart is back in our lives....what more could we wish for?  Well, his little brother Merlin is very very sick and we will be beside him while he battles the dreadful 'C' these next few months.  He has a special Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MerlinTheSphynx/ for this journey...not all fairy tales have a happy ending...but we are glad to share Merlin's journey and comfort their hearts along the way.  Be happy this day and all the days you have...

JUST A BIT MORE LOVE...

 This is the Valentine's card that Lapdaddy and I went together and got for my mommy...it tells her all the things I need done each day...you might have to biggy it to read.

 So the journey continues with the garden cats...who are now patio cats...they had better never become cottage cats!  Lapdaddy and I draw the line at the doorstep!!!!  Just look at Lion eating my leftovers! 

Scrappy cat is still too shy, but Lion is enjoying becoming a trusting kitty.  He had some real bad felted fur on his back by his tail...mommy took a scissor while he was eating and trimmed it all off...he let her do it without much protest.  This is a good thing!  It will be a good summer...they won't be able to be on the patio then...they will have to live in the garden once 'WE' got back out and enjoy the patio as the weather warms once again....so they better enjoy it while it lasts!

A DAY OF LOVE...

On this special day I wish you love...love from someone in your past...memories of days gone by...special moments of today...but most of all...just love.  My heart is happy to have the gentle thankful happy thrust of a furry head into my hand from a stray cat who has finally decided he wants to be my cat after seven years.  Little Miss Hope is still blissfully unaware of his attention to me, but she does sniff me more intently than usual...she will have some adjusting to do this summer.  So, I wish you love on this Valentine's Day.

Many of you have watched Cole grow up here on our blog...he is 17 years old now and has a job!  When he came to visit us from Denver this holiday season...his job was to play with me all the time!

 I think Cole will be a handsome young man...he drew this picture of Miss Peach six years ago.

 and helped him play poker with his daddy....

FORGIVE OUR LAZY COZY COTTAGE!

Mommy and I are sorry we have not been blogging regularly this month...we have no excuse except to say we have just been lazy and enjoying the winter...we still have our Christmas tree up to delight us with it's lights in this dark month.  AND it makes us happy!  Lapdaddy is still recovering from his surgery and getting stronger each day...that makes us happy!  Little baby steps are becoming big boy strides!  He is not even using his walker anymore just his cane!  Happy Happy Happy!
The bad news is that he no longer has a big tummy for me to lay on because he lost soooo much weight...I miss that shelf he used to have but we still cuddle as you can see.
We also have some real good news about Lion....he is slowly starting to think that he really wants to be our cat.  Mommy has been letting him sleep on the day bed on the patio...she bought him a heated pad and gave him a blanket...he now thinks he is a king!  He is a sweet old boy and just look at the picture of what mommy got him to do...not sure I like that though...

 I  have a nice feather to play with ... it came from a nice big peacock!

A MEW YEAR BEGINS...Happy 2016!

 At the cozy cottage we believe in  being cozy inside the house and outside too!

 While I was warm and toasty in the new Christmas blanket.....we had company on the back door step!  This BIG kitty boy is Lion, one of the feral family we have been hosting in the cozy cottage garden since 2010 or so.  He has been trusting mommy more and more...and having a nice warm meal.  We hope to get him to trust us all completely...it has been a long long wait.  Mommy wants to brush him and get him to sleep on a heated pad...maybe soon?

 In this picture you can see that he is ear tipped on his left era....this means that he is neutered in a TNR (trap, neuter, release) program.

HOPE you all stay warm and happy...our Christmas tree is still up...we enjoy extending the season in these dark weeks of winter...
