MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

CAT ART SUNDAY...SPIRIT IN THE SKY

Seemingly alone in the world.. independent yet depending on others in ways we never realize. With hopes and fears and a will to survive: In so many ways, we're all ferals in this world.
"A cat improves the garden wall in sunshine, and the hearth in foul weather." ~ Judith Merkle Riley
"How you behave toward cats here below determines your status in Heaven." ~ Robert Heinlein

Mommies Cat Art Sunday collage shows the various stages of our lives. From kittenhood, to companionship on earth, until we meet up with the spirit in the sky when we go to heaven. It does not matter how long our lives are, what matters is what we make of our time while we have it. The stories of NEALA and LONESOME KITTIE touched us at the cozy cottage. A beloved kitten fighting for her precious life and a senior lady who has lost most of her senses wandering blindly in this world. Not a sparrow falls that he does not see it. God created all out of love because all matter to him.
Your friendship is a precious gift to me...thank you for your many visits to the cozy cottage.
Mommy gave me a bath yesterday and clipped my nails...I smell pretty but have my "I am annoyed with you mommy" face on right now. I have a new sleeping spot again! Come by tomorrow and see where I am now. Buddy will have some pictures to show you too...the cat days of summer are finally here...IT IS HOT HOT HOT!

TOOTHLESS, STARVING, LONESOME KITTIE GETS A NEW LEASE ON LIFE?

UPDATE: Just in from Colordao! Hi all,
thanks so much for your wonderful support and tips and well wishes! Kittie is nearly overwhelmed with good Karma coming her way :)
She continues to improve!
Yesterday we had a little episode with was somewhat between amusing and terrible, involved too much drinking of water and straining to poop in short and continued succession and ended up in a giant cat barf LOL, a look from her like: how do you like THIS eh?
I got scared that her system just can't take all that food, but she didn't do that again.
Keeps eating well and more forceful now and keeps it all down.
Lets me know LOUDLY when that food bowl gets near empty, ohboy :)
I've just been making room in the garage (no small feat, believe me...) and scrubbing the floors best as I could. Right now there are two cars missing but they will be back soon, so now we're prepared for that.
She is still residing in the garage until we get this litter and dog thing figured out.
The dogs ever so often go look at her through the glass door, she will be hissing wildly, the boy dog is crying, the girl dog is wagging her tail with gusto. That's a good sign, the boy is just a chicken and jealous if anything, the girl was my biggest concern as she is a hunter and protects me well from wildlife on our hikes. But her behavior changed already over to "I need to protect this thing, it belongs to family" from "I need to protect my family FROM this thing" ;)
Kittie now LOVES her pyramid cat bed. She has figured out that it is very cozy and a lot nicer on her arthritis bones than the hard floor. Goes in there all the time.
Since she is so terribly deaf, all my rummaging around with the floor scrubber and stuff didn't bother her a bit :)
Her eyes seem to work well though!
I can leave the door open while I do stuff, she'll check it but then turn around back to her kittie bed!
She started to sit ever so often. Did not do that before, only lie or stand/wobble around.
She does like being pet softly on the throat and ears but otherwise pretty much ignores me.
She does give me these *looks*, hard to explain, I'm not sure yet what they mean.
Well, that's all we can say for now. She can live a day, a week, another month or a lot longer. There is just no way of telling. But she does seem to improve every day and get stronger.
I figure, a cat that wants to eat THAT much, is not ready to leave this world :)

This wonderful hopeful report just in from my dear friend in Colorado. If you visit her blog and encourage her to carry on...Miss Lonesome Kittie might just end up getting a second chance at a better life. That would be a wonderful dream come true...our Cat Blogosphere love can help her!

"Sigh... Took “Kittie” to the vet today to have her checked out. Compared to yesterday, she actually does begin to look like a cat and was walking around quite a bit! The verdict: weighs 5 pounds 11 ounces, severely dehydrated, about 13 – 15 years old! all remaining teeth need to be pulled (not that many left…)incredible arthritis, declawed, otherwise, she sounds good in heart and lungs, no tumors or such that the vet could detect, very strong and good heart beat
So, what’s a sucker to do? She adopted me, right? For some reason I am rather hesitant to call around the neighborhood to find the person who let this furrball deteriorate so far and give her back there. Maybe she was dumped? Vet said that happens often that people just don’t want to put up with an older animal and the vet bills that may be connected (kidney, thyroid etc.) So, I’ll see if I can fatten her up a bit and get her healthier, then blood tests to see more clearly where we stand, get those teeth taken care off and we’ll see if she can get a few more happy cat years on this earth. The dogs think this is pretty awful, but I’m sure we can find a golden middle way to get along together. What do you think?? At the humane society she would be put down right away in her condition, but somehow, the progress she already made in one day makes me think there is hope. She sure is a cuddler all around and I am waiting for that first big “real” purr, right now its more of a wheeze LOL.
Well, I have some kittie litter to buy and more soft food cans…. and a brush! oh gosh, that coat…."

THANK YOU GOD FOR SAVING COLE...

and his family from death yesterday. We praise you for their lives and pray in thankfulness. In the blink of an eye lives can forever be changed and you spared them. We thank you for sending a guardian angel to watch over them on the interstate. A totaled car can be replaced... The cozy cottage is humbled by your great love for us. We praise YOUR HOLY name forever.
Cole will be here later today. I wonder what color his cast is going to be this time....He has been through so much in this past week. We ask all of you to reach for someone you love right now, hold them tight and tell them so.

SHOW AND TELL WITH MISS HUNNY BUNNY

Meow to you this fine Monday. Look what the man in the blue shorts brought us this weekend! I examined the packet very carefully and found that it came from Jan's Funny Farm. The note inside said it was selected for us by Auntie Deb and our dearest ML. It seems those three Fairy Godmothers are always putting their heads together to surprise us...
Just look at this wonderful cozy cottage plate they sent us!!! We showed you some highlights yesterday in our Cat Art Sunday post. We just love how much it represents our cozy cottage right down to the mini Miss Peach walking down the cobblestone path...
To thank our fairy godmothers for the pretty gift we are sending them the best flowers from our cottage garden.
First comes our black beauty Hollyhock ringed with some sweet babies breath...
Then our wine colored daylily with her golden throat...
Next our favorite peach colored frilly dancing ladies...
And the lemon yellow classics...thank you for the pretty plate. We treasure it because it was selected and sent with so much love...
On the injured list at the cozy cottage is our sweet Cole. He has broken his arm after a fall from his new skateboard. He is so sad that he can not play golf anymore this summer...or go swimming...or boating and inner tubing on the Columbia River. A cast is no fun for an energetic young man...please send some purrrs for a good healing. We would be most thankful for them.

CAT ART SUNDAY

Do kitties ever dream?
I do. I dream about a place for every kitty to feel safe.
A special quiet place full of flowers and friends....
Hello dear friends....yes I am talking about YOU!!!
A cobblestone walking path to rest and cool my belly on a hot day...
A little fountain to drink from...
Yes, these dreams can come true...
Close your eyes and wander with me....lets see who we might meet...
I have the pleasure of introducing you to the cozy cottage's newest kitty boy. Here he is with Buddy on the left. He could be his twin brother...look at their faces how similar their lines are.
Well since it is Cat Art Sunday...here is a beautiful card that mommy got this week...
We see much similarity here also. Look at those eyes...they are the eyes of LION. That is this new kitty's name. My Grandbean Cole picked it. We think LION fits him purrrrfectly.

Please enjoy your Sunday and come back tomorrow. Miss Hunny Bunny has something to show and tell about...

HAPPY HELPFUL HOUSEPEST...sorry...HOUSEGUEST HARLEY

My beautiful grandbean Ellie finally came to pick up the housepest Harley. She spent lots of time snuggling with me first out on the patio. She is so gentle with me and I love her... "What! I have to go home now!! I was just beginning to whip the cozy cottage into shape and now it is time to leave?"
I wonder if I can come back again some time...there is so much to do here...
I have to test out the hammock chair for the Lapdaddy...
Yep....I think it will hold up fine...
I need to examine the hosta plants for bugs and critters of various types...
Is that a fly up there...?
I need to take a toy box inventory...green purdy gifty ribbon, tinkle ball, boingy springy thingy, and bottle caps...all check out fine!
No more Party Mix crumbs on the carpet thanks to me...
I even helped wash up the mirror....hey who the heck is that cat in there that looks just like me...do I have a twin brother?
Have to fluff up the pillows for the mommy lady...
I helped Misses Peach with the laundry room duty...
We even made the famous Squiggley kitty toys together...
I helped unravel all the yarn....

"So you see, I am a very useful kitty. Don't you agree? I should be able to come back again some time...what do you think? I even go to bed at nine o'clock like a good boy."

Misses Peach here, "Don't let little mister innocent fool you. Next week I will tell you the rest of the story according to me!!!"

FUSSBALL FEVER!!!!!!

History is made in Spain!!! They outplayed the 3 time world champions Germany. We are sad at the cozy cottage. It was a clean fair game to be proud of and sportsmanship is what counts in our book. Now we will root for Holland to win on Sunday.....Go ROBBEN!

Cole and his daddy Oliver are the biggest FUSSBALL fans!!!

Forgive us for forgetting our Wednesday post! The cozy cottage is in the midst of FUSSBALL FEVER as I type. Spain~Germany 0-0 at half time!!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!! CAT ART SUNDAY

You either stand up Patriotically and salute your flag with your hand over your heart because you love and honor your country...Or you don't. We know who you are... We respect the sacrifices given for the freedoms we enjoy. We owe respect to our great history.
We pray that we will once again become
"ONE NATION UNDER GOD" Patriotic ATC's mommy loves to display on my fireplace mantle.
Holidays are so fun...
Stay safe when you play with fireworks tonight...
keep the woofies inside and the kitties too
so they do not get too scairt of the boomies...
Can you see the lady in this Magic Eye picture?
Stare hard and she will show herself...

We have a house guest at the cozy cottage...I am not real happy about it. Come by tomorrow and have a cup of tea with me and we will discuss IT!
