WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY...with Buddy

I have the most wonderful mews about Buddy! Mommy was able to finally touch him! Over a year he has been coming to eat in the cozy cottage garden. He enjoys being close to Hunny Bunny and respects her as the Alpha cat. He always acts the gentleman and lets her eat first and sleep in the chair on the deck. We are so happy about this progress of trust forming. Mommy petted his scruffy head and rubbed his ears, stoked his back and tail. All very carefully so as not to startle him in any way...this is his first human touch and we are over the moon happy to be able to have done it. He gently walked away and settled up camp by the hazelnut bush all the while watching mommy wondering if humans can be trusted. YEAH!!!!! PS: Mommy said Hunny Bunny was jealous about this touching episode and smacked Buddy around a little bit. We did not know this side of her purrrrrsonality!

This week it is all about the Red Sox at the cozy cottage. I have been watching the game against the Rays real close. This weekend the RED SOX will be coming to Seattle to teach the Mariners how to play Baseball! My grandkidbean Cole and his daddy Oliver will be there for every game in the front row off the third base. They will be on TV for sure just like they were last year. Do you know that a baseball ticket in the front row costs $200 per seat per game? That is just crazy!!! Just think of how many cans of Fancy Feast that would buy.

Oh I am feeling so much better. More happy and playful with each day.

A MOTHER'S DAY CAT ART SUNDAY...

I hope all of you have a wonderfur Mother's Day. Mommy has a tummy ache so I can not sit in her lap. I have been doing that a whole bunch these past few days now that I am feeling much better. I am once again the Velcro Kitty I used to be. They have missed me in their laps and now mommy has a tummy ache...no fair. This is mommy when she was a few months old...with her mother in Germany.
They were in Oma's kitchen, die gute Stube, it was early spring in the year 1955.

Here I am in her mother's lap during my Hospice duty time in the year 2001. That is my gentle grandkidbean Cole in the black & white photo. Mothers love fancy cards, perfume and pretty hats, flowers and butterflies. I hope all of you get these gifts on this special day and many more...

AT THE COZY COTTAGE WE ARE SLEEPING IN ANOTHER NEW SPOT!

Here is my newest sleeping spot over the course of the day...In the late afternoon sunshine, the window is bathed in a soft peachy glow. I like that because at least this Peach is not getting bathed:) in water but in nice warm sunshine. All day I slept in the window warming my furs for the first time there this year.

Photo down below was in the morning when the light was very bright and the shades were up. Do you see the Victorian birdhouse in my front yard? That is the birdhouse my Lapdaddy built for mommy the day after he came home from the hospital. Doing what you love is the best therapy for recovery...
That is why I love to sleep so much. Especially on my newest soft warm and very pretty blanket I won at aukshun. I want to tell you something special about this blanket. First it was donated by the Cat Stephens to the aukshun...then I won it...then some one named A. Nony Mouse paid for it before I could...and KC & ML sent it off to me. I want to thank A. Nony Mouse so very much for this kindness, I am very touched and love the blanket even more. Do you think those cats on it look like me? Mommy said I need to fatten up a bit before I look like them.

FRIENDLY SURROUNDINGS ON FRIDAY...

I am the Queen of my domain! I sleep where I please...Sometimes I just want to crash on the roof of my house. I can, because I am the Queen and mommy is the slave who has to cater to my every whim.Over this last month that I have been recovering from my many surgeries, so many wonderful gifts and letters have come to me from all over the world. I am very thankful that so many of you care and love me so much. Me, a little tiny old red cat... I can not really understand the power of the word love. I do understand how it spreads though...one profile picture that intrigues you, one name to click one, one webpage that captures your attention, one window to another world that opens because of the power of modern communication. For a little red cat, that is an amazing thing to comprehend. I am feeling so much better. One thing I know for sure...it IS BECAUSE OF YOUR GREAT LOVE that I have recovered. I believe in the power of love and the goodness of caring hearts. We do not always have to be front and center with our care but we do need to have an awearness of a situation and be there to lend comfort when someone needs it. That is that magic that makes the Cat Blogosphere work...we never have to feel alone with our troubles. Mommy strung me this clothes line so I could hang all of my favorite tags and cards. She has given up her mantle top for me to enjoy as long as I want. It makes her crazy because she is OCD and this mantle top is her favorite decorating spot. But true loves sets aside ones own need for that of anothers comfort. So I am comfortable and she is...er well, sort of....getting past it.

NORMIE IS NOT ALONE ANYMORE...

His daddy went to be with him in heaven last night. I know Normie missed him terribly since he went to the rainbow bridge two months ago. He often wrote and told me so... Now he has welcomed his dear daddy Stan through heavens gates where he has been preparing a place for him. Sparkey is waiting for him too. His mommy Joan is so very sad.... she lost the two friends she loved so very much so closely together. I wish I could snuggle close to her shoulder and purrrrr into her ears..

WONDERFUR WORDLESS WEDNESDAY! (almost)

I wish I could get some shut eye at the cozy cottage today...recovering my health is serious business...I almost have it accomplished...one teeny tiny spot to go on my tummy and I am better than new! Then I will probably have to have a bath, get my ears cleaned out and have a dreaded procedure done to my paws. Remember that gift my mommy got for me last week that I told you I would not like at all? Well she is going to make me wear them!! Stay tuned...maybe I will run away...I am already in the Sherwood Forest...please keep our dearest friends in your best purrrrs and prayers.

WHERE IS THE COZY COTTAGE????

In honor of ML and daddy Charley we have officially moved the cozy cottage to the SHERWOOD FOREST! We will be surrounded by magical fairies who will watch over us by day and night.

The dogwood trees are in full bloom right now making it a magical place to spend time. In the front of the cozy cottage we have Cherokee Daybreak with her white flowers and white edged leaves and the Cherokee Sunset with her pink flowers and yellow edged leaves. The big dogwood in the back of the house is Cherokee Chief and has green leaves in summer. As you can see, we love dogwoods at the cozy cottage because they have interest in each and every season. Mommy just bought a dogwood bush called Hedgerow Gold and it has golden edges leaves. Lapdaddy planted it behind the bench in the picture above. It is scrawny so we hope it fills in. Kind of like me right now...I am very scrawny and mommy hopes I fill in a little bit. I lost lots of weight while I was sick.

ATC or A Totally Cool Cat Art Sunday!

My visit with Dr Oliver on Friday was a lot of fun for me. After he told me how well I am recovering, he showed mommy how to pill a cat! Mommy already knew how to do that but did not want to seem a know it all so she let him give me a pill. Open mouth, inset pill popper, swallow pill...good kitty! NOOOOOOOT! Just when Dr Oliver said, "And that's all there is to it." I spit the pill back onto the counter, looked at him and we all broke out laughing our heads off!! So now I have to take a half a pill for two weeks to finish off this sinus infection. My lungs are clear so that is great and my scar is healing over a bit more each day! YEAH!!! Yesterday I got a package from my friend Lorianna. She sent me this wonderful can of Fancy Feast Turkey dinner. It is my first undiluted meal and I liked it! If you bigafy the photo above, you will see what she sent to mommy and Lapdaddy...their favorite tea and chocolate from Germany! How ever did she know these were our favorite things? It was a very cozy evening drinking tea and eating sweets sent from the sweetest lady we know.
Easter is over but Spring is still here! Here are some pretty ATC's mommy got in a swap. Each is so different and we love them ALL! Which is your favorite?

It has been a very relaxing weekend so far. My Lapdaddy is building mommy a shadow box table top for her ottoman. It will be very cool...mommy wanted this for 10 years now...finally she will get it. Mommy designs all the furniture and Lapdaddy builds it (eventually:). Lapdaddy is happiest when he is out splashing around in sawdust. Mommy is happiest when Lapdaddy is happy. I am happy when I don't have to sneeze my little head off anymore to get rid of this sinus infection! My nose is soooo tiny and it sux when I can't breath right! Please keep KC's daddy Charley and Normie's daddy Stan in your very best purrrrs, they need it so very much.

THINGS MOMMY LOVES!

Chocolate easter bunnies Birgit sent from Germany... The sweet card she got from Lorianna last year and the new tag that says 'Home Sweet Paradise' from Miss Tinkerbelle's mommy. You have not met her yet, but you will!

But most of all Mommy love Lapdaddy and me. I finally came out of the sweat lodge for a few minutes last night and sat on my sweet Lapdaddies chest. I heard his heart beating strong and steady. Then I sneezed all over him! Mommy gave him a wet wipe because she keeps them close by for this reason...good mommy, you are so prepared. I hope it will be the best weekend ever...it just has to be for so many of us who need it so badly.

MY NEWEST SLEEPY SPOT!

Well here it is just like I promised you. Mommy made me a sweat lodge quarantine hut! it has my new pink blanket it in and my heated pad. Then she covered it with my Hey Diddle Diddle the Cat and the Fiddle blanket to keep all the heat inside. That does keep it toasty warm. So as you can see I have completely taken over the fireplace mantle. The cute bunny family has been kicked to the living room window after they got a bath....what did you say they suffered from mommy? Slimmysnotitis? Is there medicine for that in my ever growing box full of medicines? Mommy can check up on me at night without disturbing me too much because of this cute little flashlight that Jasper Ginger sent me from England. Inside his package were all the beautiful goodies below. I love the butterfly charm. It will go well with my wedding things. They goldfish toy will get lots of use when Hunny Bunny comes by for a visit. Being an old cat, I do not play anymore, but it is nice to have toys for company! Mommy got luckiest with the gossamer golden shawl that Jasper's mommy made for her...she will wear it when she goes out with her prettiest dress. It looks like a golden spider wove it...very pretty! We thank you mommy Carol and Jasper for your kindness...

Hey turn that light out now! I want to sleep in peace! You will have to wait and see what else mommy got for me...but I know for sure I will HATE it!!!

I love my furry friends. Today I am showing you two gifts that came for me from as far apart in this country as can possibly be. Mr. Whiskers sent me this beautiful Victorian kitty book with the nicest pictures and writings inside all the way from Hawaii. The beautiful cable knit sweater came from Massachusetts at TT's house. She did not want me to be cold anymore so she told her mommy to send this to me. It is mommies favorite color and fits me to a TT:) Thank you both so much for always thinking about me. I also have a nice package that I got from Ginger Jasper in England...I will show that Wednesday. Mommy got me a gifty too, but I am not so sure I will like it at all!!! You will also see my newest sleeping establishment unveiled for the world to see....

God bless all my furry family wherever they may be, keep them warm and safe from harm for they're so close to me. And God, there is one more thing I wish that you could do; hope you don't mind me asking, please bless my computer too. NEVER WASTE A GOOD DAY...or the chance to say I LOVE YOU!

UPDATE: We are home from a morning at the Vet. We are exhausted to say the least but glad to be home. I got poked and prodded and looked over like a prize fighter! My teeth are doing well. I am dehydrated so I got what is called subQ's. I never had those b4 and I looked like a little old lady with a baggy dress and droopy stockings when I got done. Like my furry suit had sprung a leak and water got in! I felt and looked even more weird! ALL my stitched were taken out YEAH! I still have a bad issue on my incision an open pocket of infection at one of the stitch spots. Dr. Oliver gave me a better salve to spread on it called Bactoderm. I also got an injection for pain. I have a bad case of URI possibly from the tooth removal where bacteria may have worked it's way into the sinus cavity during irrigation of the mouth. Wheeeeezing and snezzzzing is no fun. Mommy can't get the snot cleaned up fast as I can sling it around. Poor mantle bunnies are covered in it! I did eat and drink as soon as I got home, so that is a good sign. This whole situation is making mommy so sad...she blames herself for me feeling so bad because she told Dr Oliver to take my bad teeth and my tumor away. Now I am really sick and she is so sad for me. It will take much longer than planned to get me well again, but Dr. Oliver said I will get better. 1993....the year Lapdaddy and mommy got engaged...he put this on the floor of our garden shed..
I hope another rainbow will come after I go to the Vet today... What a difference a day makes...24 little hours..we are just so blessed to have our Lapdaddy home with us again. It was such a great day yesterday. Lapdaddy built mommy a bird house, planted tomatoes and cucumbers and petunias.
Mommy took him to eat salad and soup at his favorite place. It was a good good day. The first of many more to come. Never waste a single day kitties because tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Do not be angry or grumpy at anyone because it wastes energy. Try not to need to have the last word or care who left crumbs on the counter or complain about who might have left kitty litter all over the carpet...be happy with everyday as the gift it is and be thankful for those who love you! HOME TOGETHER AGAIN! For better and worse...

I almost can not find the words to thank you for all of the many prayers you have given on our behalf. The have been heard in Heaven and my Lapdaddy is home with me once again. We are so grateful that you all love us so much and took the time to intervene and petition for us. Once again a miracle was given to us and my Lapdaddy was saved. The timing of the days events could only have been orchastrated from Heaven. He had his heart attack at the VA Clinic and they quickly took him to the hospital three blocks away. The head cardiac doctor was in house and he did a heart cath and found two blood clots. They were removed with great difficulty and two stints placed to keep the vein open. After a very restless night, dawn brought a new day and a new outlook on the rest of our lives. I am so glad to have Lapdaddy and mommy home again. They are so happy to be here with me.

I am not doing so well right now. My stitches are still a bit infected. The problem is that I sleep rolled up like an armadillio and no air can get to them to dry them out. I also have developed a very rough cough. Mommy is very worried and I will be back at the Vet Monday morning to tell Dr. Oliver I am not a happy old kitty. She put my heating pad inside my new pink blanket and covered me with my favorite fleecy scrap to keep me warm. I am still eating well, so I hope that is a good sign. We are sorry we are so sick right now at the cozy cottage. But we are very happy and count our many Blessings no matter what may come. Each and every comment you have left for us means the world to us, as we read them we know we are not alone...

PLEASE PRAY FOR MY LAPDADDY!

I am sorry to have to tell you that my sweet Lapdaddy had a heart attack today. He is in the hospital getting the very best of care. He will have to stay for a little bit and mommy will be there with him. I would like it if you could channel all of your purrrrs and prayers there to him so he will be well enough to return home to the cozy cottage and let me back on his lap real soon. He has a very loving but very broken heart and the doctors have fixed it back up again many times. Each time we pray and our prayers are answered...please let this be another one of those times. I love you all and will write more as mommy tells me. Tonight I will be alone but mommy will leave the light on that I am sleeping under. All my love till soon...your Miss Peach

FINALLY FRIDAY...

It has been a very long week with lots of ups and downs. The down was my getting my stitches infected and having to go to see Dr. Oliver again. The up was that he gave me a shot good for two weeks to help with my infection. The real up is that it is working and today my stitches "looking very good" to quote mommy. The down is that I am coughing a raspy deep tune all day long. The up is that I am allowed to sleep on top of the mantle and that I can jump up there without too much trouble. I am still quite nimble for a 16 year old! So today I will spend most of my time sleeping and dreaming about a long white dress and a day by a lighthouse far away...
