MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

MONDAY'S MEOWSINGS...

This is what was served for desert last night. Lapdaddy wanted strawberry shortcake. So they went to the store and got fresh berries and angel food cakes. Mommy sugared the berries and added some cinnamon and some vanilla coffee creamer then mounded whipped cream over the whole confection....oh so yummy! I even got to lick the plate but it was already pretty clean! I wanted to show you this huge bug that we found on my patio chair! He is kind of pretty, but a pest with his hissy attitude..
All I wanted to do was sleep on my chair in the sunshine...... Get off of my tail!!!
Hey you!! I am going to thump you if you don't listen to me!
I do not know what kind of bug this is, do any of you? We have a bug in Germany called a Maikafer that looks like this but much bigger and all brown. Mommy called him Mr. Huffandpuff...

CAT ART SUNDAY COLLAGE OF DREAMS...

As many of you might know by now....Mickey the Black Cat has asked for my paws in matrimony on Valentine's Day this year. Then I got sick and had to have three surgeries and most of my teeth stolen out of my mouth. I recovered very poorly from my belly stitches but now I am back to health better than new. Then as I was planning our wedding, my beloved had to go and have some things checked out with his health. Sometimes it is better to just go on as best as one can. That is what we are going to do! Live each day as it comes and make the most of our time together. Mickey is 14 years young and I am older at 16 years. We have each seem many sunsets...but together we will enjoy them even more for as long as we both shall live! We have thought of eloping and coming back all married then giving a huge party. But every girl dreams of that white gown and cutting that cake on her special day...I know what I want but for fun I will put up a poll to see what all of you think we should do. In the meantime I will dream of our day... My Lapdaddy dreams of the good old days when life was black & white and Rickey loved Lucy! This is his 1941 FORD Police cruiser...all stock. He did all the work himself.
I think this is the best card in the deck! Don't you? At least I am not the Joker!

FOREVER.....

And when the groove is dead and gone...you know that love survives...so we can rock forever...

I cannot escape the moon. Its soft beams push aside the curtains at night. I don't even have to see it — a cool blue energy falls across my bed and I am up. I race down the dark hall and swing open the door, not to leave home but to go back into it. "Moon, I'm here!" I shout."Good," she replies. "Now give us a little dance."But my body has started moving long before she says anything. When did it start? I can't remember — my body has always been moving. Since childhood I have reacted to the moon this way, as her favorite lunatic, and not just hers. The stars draw me near, close enough so that I see through their twinkling act. They're dancing, too, doing a soft molecular jiggle that makes my carbon atoms jump in time. With my arms flung wide, I head for the sea, which brings out another dance in me. Moon dancing is slow inside, and soft as blue shadows on the lawn. When the surf booms, I hear the heart of the earth, and the tempo picks up. I feel the dolphins leaping in the white foam, trying to fly, and almost flying when the waves curl high to the heavens. Their tails leave arcs of light as plankton glow in the waves. A school of minnows rises up, flashing silver in the moonlight like a new constellation."Ah!" the sea says, "Now we're gathering a crowd."I run along the beach, catching waves with one foot and dodging them with the other. I hear faint popping sounds — a hundred panicky sand crabs are ducking into their holes, just in case. But I'm racing now, sometimes on my toes, sometimes running flat-out.I throw my head back and a swirling nebula says, "Fast now, twirl!"Grinning, ducking my head for balance, I start to spin as wildly as I can. This is my favorite dance, because it contains a secret. The faster I twirl, the more I am still inside. My dance is all motion without, all silence within. As much as I love to make music, it's the unheard music that never dies. And silence is my real dance, though it never moves. It stands aside, my choreographer of grace, and blesses each finger and toe.I have forgotten the moon now and the sea and the dolphins, but I am in their joy more than ever. As far away as a star, as near as a grain of sand, the presence rises, shimmering with light. I could be in it forever, it is so loving and warm. But touch it once, and light shoots forth from the stillness. It quivers and thrills me, and I know my fate is to show others that this silence, this light, this blessing is my dance. I take this gift only to give it again.Quick, give!" says the light. As never before, I try to obey, inventing new steps, new gestures of joy. All at once I sense where I am, running back up the hill. The light in my bedroom is on. Seeing it brings me back down. I begin to feel my pounding heart, the drowsiness in my arms, the warm blood in my legs. My cells want to dance slower. "Can we walk a little?" they ask. "It's been kind of wild.""Sure." I laugh, slowing to an easy amble.I turn the doorknob, panting lightly, glad to be tired. Crawling back into bed, I remember something that I always wonder at. They say that some of the stars that we see overhead aren't really there. Their light takes millions of years to reach us, and all we are doing is looking into the past, into a bygone moment when those stars could still shine."So what does a star do after it quits shining?" I ask myself. "Maybe it dies.""Oh, no," a voice in my head says. "A star can never die. It just turns into a smile and melts back into the cosmic music, the dance of life." I like that thought, the last one I have before my eyes close. With a smile, I melt back into the music myself.from the book**DANCING THE DREAM by Michael Jackson**(published 1992)

MID~WEEK MEUWSINGS

This morning began real good at the cozy cottage. Mommy fixed me a bowl of my favorite snacks mixed together. She had her coffee and picked some fresh currant berries to go with it. We have one little sad bush that gives just a handful...when mommy lived with Oma in Germany, they picked hundreds of pound each year in her garden!! We love fresh currants...they are called Johannisbeere in German. Then I took a nap in the sunshine...
Later mommy made me watch TV,
but I played box cat instead and tucked my head away.
The program showed us how to groom properly.
I don't think this kitty is very happy....
THEY CUT OFF HIS EARS!!!!!
Mommy also thinks I should learn some
charm lessons
for my upcoming wedding to Mickey.
So I took some vamping lessons from Lucy and Ethel....
I hope to make Mickey's eyes roll around like Rickey's...
when I walk down the aisle to meet him on our special day!

Until my sweet little grandbean Ellie came by to visit me....
She loved the house and took it home...a good thing is that she left me behind!

Do you notice the bracelet Ellie has on her left wrist? When she came to see me last summer, she wore the exact same one then!!

CAT ART SUNDAY~Cozy corners on FATHER'S DAY

Happy Father's Day to my sweetest loving Lapdaddy!!! We love you for everything you do to make us happy and keep our cottage cozy... Today we will show you some of the cozy corners in the cottage that have lots of meowing going on...hope you enjoy the little eye candies... This is Miss Minka, the kitty who came B4 me. She was tiny like me at only four pounds.
We burn a tea light candle in this porcelain kitty figurine when one of our friends needs extra purrrrs and purrrrayers.
Mommies favorite book marker...
Nat Dickenson made this portrait of me in charcoal pencils. This is a favorite corner of mommies table top hutch. Lots of meowing going on here...
Mommy made this needlework in 1976. She changed the colors to suit her. She has red head furs and the kitty she had then was a ginger just like me only it had real long furs. See the little Meezer on top of the frame?
Our favorite cookie mold kitty family...

We wish all of you a most wonderful week leading into summer. Mommy is busy making her art books right now and my Lapdaddy is building 10 custom birdhouses for a client. I will be spending most of my time just napping in the sunshine on my patio...dreaming of a special mancat on an unforgettable day to come soon...

PURRRRING FOR MY MICKEY!

My beloved mancat Mickey is at the dentist right now...I am hurrying to be beside him when he wakes up from his sleep. I hope that his teeth will not be too hurty. I know that I am feeling so very much better now that my teeth do not hurt anymore...I even get to have all my favorite crunchie munchies again just like before. Mommy does not have to grind them up in an old coffee grinder anymore! Well, I better get moving now as it is a long way to Nova Scotia. I will be back on Friday with all of my box pictures...you will like them! Tea and tuna puff crumpets will be served all day along with saucers of French vanilla milk...see you all then!

SUMMERY MOODS.....

Mommy was not watching me and I took that moment to help myself to her cereal. She puts a tad of sweet French vanilla coffee creamer in with the milk...oh how yummy!! Poor Buddy...the slamming screen door at our neighbors house sent him running madly down our sidewalk for cover under the thick hostas and Sweet Williams in our garden. He is so like the cowardly lion from The Wizard of Oz.
Here is a Color Magic Rose in a 'before' the sun and 'after' the sun mood. We love this magic rose!

Yesterday was Flag Day. Hunny Bunny spent quite a bit of time laying on the cobblestone sidewalk by our garden flag. She played with ants and rolly pollies, then gave Buddy an upper cut when he came to close to the door.

CAT ART SUNDAY...Already Sunday again!?

I just do not know who keeps stealing my time. It is going way to fast. Just yesterday it seems like it was Sunday and here again another one...do you ever have such weeks? We worked in the garden to clean it a little bit on Saturday. There has been so much wind and lots of tree poop from the neighbors nasty trees. Mommy says some very adult words at times about it. Maybe she should make herself an adult drink like Parker's mommy did... Today we saw Buddy come strolling down the cleaned up sidewalk. I noticed that he has a wound on his front shoulder/elbow, about the size of a quarter. We think he might have been in a fight. We REALLY want to hug him now and get a closer look. I hope he licks it clean. Poor guy is such a big cat but has not learned to apply that presence yet... Today's cute cat art card (made by artist Barbara Simpson CCCC) is how we wish Buddy could spend his life...resting on a soft pillow safe from all harm knowing he is welcome and loved. Wishing all of my dear friends a beautiful happy week...
