MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

TEA FOR TWO AND TWO FOR TEA....

Mommy lets me have my very own tea cup that sits on the kitchen counter. She keeps it full of fresh water. I like to drink out of it because it makes me feel special. We all need little special moments in our dreary gray days. Two of you kitties will feel special as soon as the mail purrrrson brings you a box sent from the cozy cottage...who will it be? What will be inside?

I know Auntie Deb will get the beautiful calico quilted kitty when she gets home again because she bid the highest for her. Thank you Auntie Deb for wanting the calico kitty and helping the kitties who need it the most by bidding on my auction. You are always in my best thoughts and I pray you will recover from your surgery and be good as new again real soon...we miss you so much!

HOUSEWORK AT THE COZY COTTAGE!

Who is afraid of the big bad Hoover? "Not I," said the little red cat! I am the bravest cat in my cozy cottage. Mommy and I agreed that she can clean the Motorola anytime and I can claim it for my own cozy warm spot until the new TV cabinet is built. Or until I barf on it, then all bets are off...

MEMORIES IN TIME ALONG THE OREGON COAST

While we were in Depoe Bay I had my 16th birthday on January 10th. Mommy bought me this crystal mouse...
I like it so much so I kissed it. Did you know that the classic movie One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest was filmed on location in Depoe Bay?
One of mommies treasure she found while tide pooling...looks like a jelly fish. The Spouting Horn during the war. They were worried about Japanese invasion and were quartered in the Inn.Betty's world famous deep dish marionberry pie with a side of vanilla bean ice creme! The beans in front of 'Their' lighthouse. The Yaquina Bay Light. They were married here in case you did not know that yet.We even did some whale watching!Mommies 'Light' in romantic black & white.... Look how busy we were making all of your Valentines books for those of you who were so kind and sent us Christmas cards....I snopervized each and every step! The world famous painter Wyland painted the whale wall in the harbor front of Newport. The Yaquina Bay bridge in Newport... In a fun reflection....on the waterfrontThe Coast Guard Station in NewportThar she blows....... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! The Spouting Horn today. Beautiful brass doors to the charter boats... Leading down to the worlds smallest harbor.Mommies favorite...shrimp and Cheddar on a toasted English muffin!
And chicken bisque soup that is to die for. The owner Phil makes it any day she wants to have it.I hope you enjoyed this little salty reflection on the Pacific Ocean. This is the view to the right from our condo.Mommy always says a year without a week spent at the Oregon coast is a wasted year!

QUILTED CAT ART SUNDAY!

Hello everyone! Today I have something a little bit different to show you. Mommy has had this big quilted kitty pillow guarding our hallway for many years. She bought this quilted cat in 1987 in Heidelberg Germany at an ACS craft shop. It is made from a vintage quilt that came from Texas. The lady who made it told her it belonged to her Grandmother. The backing is sturdy fabric and the buttons come from an old Army uniform and are OD green of course. It makes a pretty pillow and is about 14 X 21 inches. Like most cats she is charming, but has a few tatters here and there but many more years of life left in her. She is looking for a new home and can go to the highest bidder. If you like her cottage flair, please leave your bid here in the comments. She is housebroken and eats very little and never sheds!

MOTOROLA TRIP TO THE LAND DOWN UNDER!

I spent the day snoozing on top of the Motorola...it is not inside the TV cabinet anymore because Lapdaddy got a new toy to play with. It is so big that he has to build a new cabinet to put it in. So I get to enjoy the warmth the box gives off...at least until I barf on it or stuff it full of cat fur dander. So this evening I traveled to Australia...to Kangaroo Island.
Holy cats are those Kangaroos ever big! I wonder if it is really nice and toasty inside that mommies pouch? I think I could like that napping place too.
For now, I will just stay here on top of the ol Motorola and enjoy life while I can. Oh mommy why do you have the bath water running??!

She sure knows how to ruin a good nap!

TEA PARTY FOR RANDOM THANKFULNESS

Today I would like to invite you to stay for a little bit and have a cup of catmint tea and some of these wonderful mint flavored cookies I now call Boulderneigh Biscuits.
View from our balcony out over the Pacific ocean...mommy kept me very warm as you can see... Hello and welcome in out of the cold...Isn't this violet tea set just to precious. It belongs to my friend Michelle...and it comes from Germany! While we were on the Oregon coast last week, we took time to find her little town and meet this wonderful blogger lady and her son Brian and the doggie they have named Jackson! Now I have two doggie pals named Jackson! Plus my last name is Jackson...how cool is that!?Bits of this and that the mommy dragged along to keep her happy at the ocean... Yummy frosted Boulderneigh biscuits...She fixed us this welcome respite at her farm and we chatted the afternoon away until darkness reluctantly bid us to head for our condo in Depoe Bay. The cookies are the best I have ever tasted and the recipe is posted here on Michelle's blog. I know you will enjoy looking at all the sheep, the yarn and knitted treasures Michelle makes. She also went to Depoe Bay yesterday for a fun day away and posted some photos. I just wish they would have come the Sunday before so we could have been there together.Frost dusted sedums at the farm...
I hope you enjoy some of the random vacation photos I have posted for you. Thank you for purrrring for our sweet handsome Buddy to come back. Guess what? It worked! Mommy came home from Church last night and saw a shadow move across the courtyard with a tail attached. She ran out on the patio and called his name and he came closer and seemed happy to see her. We are just so glad he is alright. Thank you all so much...now sit and let me pour you out a good cuppa...we have much to be thankful for.

CAT ART SUNDAY...Frosty Cold!

We want Spring to come so mommy made this ATC last night with real rose petals from Rainbow roses. Yes the really do grow in vibrant colors ALL on one rose! They come from Holland land of enchanted flowers. We have never seen them in flower shops here and these petals came from mommies friend Valery in Nevada. She dried them for us in the microwave and the colors stayed brilliant! This tiny Hundy Gurdy plays a sweet melody and mommy put her favorite stamp on it, she says it reminds her of me.
My brother Dragonheart made this page for me...
gosh I miss him so very very much...
I have been sleeping under my fuzzy blue blanket all day and night. It is really warm in there. Mommy puts her cold hands in there and tells me to warm them up....the nerve!

Here is a trio of snowcat cards from our collection of winter art.

Oh my goodness is it ever cold outside here at the cozy cottage! I wonder if Spring will ever come...we saw that Robin last week, was he an impostor? Hunny Bunny and the kitten are fine out on our patio, but we have not seen our handsome Buddy since we got back from the ocean. We are getting worried about him. Please pray for him to come back. Mommy dreamed about him... wishing you all a sweet Sunday surrounded by love.

NO TAXES......NO SHELTER!!!!

Kitties I am REALLY mad today!! Meet Sammy...he is a cool ginger boy.
My few furs are sooooo up in a dander right now over this story about Sammy the Post Office cat.

NOTASULGA, Ala. -- "One of the pleasures of living in a small town is having a post office cat," say residents of Notasulga, Alabama.
That's why folks are wondering why Sammy the cat got kicked out of the town's post office.
"He doesn't bother a soul," say residents.
Another adds, "Most of the time he just slept on the table all day."
Sammy's supporters have gathered outside the post office with hopes of getting the cat back in the building.
It started when one upset customer sent a letter to the postmaster. "They said this is a federal building and Sammy doesn't pay taxes so he can't come in," says postal worker Rochelle Langford.
Now residents are all joining forces to get Sammy back inside and legendary Auburn football coach Pat Dye is leading the march. "We ain't worried about football," says Dye. "We're worried about the cat."
Dye's getting plenty of help. Sammy now has a mailbox at the post office, courtesy of a supporter.
Late Friday, postal officials took down the sign banning Sammy the cat. They will, however, try to keep him outside most of the time.

My Hawaiian friend Mr.Whiskers sent it to me yesterday, he has his paw on the pulse of things. I think Cats should be exempt from paying taxes because we are not for profit purrrr factories! Just ask anyone who's blood pressure has gone down after a purr session with us in their laps! You rock Sammy and I am your fan...not just because you are a cool ginger either.
