HUNNY BUNNY's SCRIPT HAS ARRIVED FROM HOLLYWOOD!!!

RING RING RING}}}}}}The long awaitied phone call has finally come! Miss Hunny Bunny will be getting the following story to review for her purrrrrusal as the starring role of Lottie...do you think she would be a great leading lady? Should she take this part? FROM THE STUDIO OF MGM, HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA{copywrite: all rights reserved}Sometimes the stars are just aligned right for RESCUES! Not often, but... sometimes.
This is the ture story about one of those times.

Lottie is a 14 year old odd eyed white Devon girl. She was turned in to a kill shelter in Dallas. Her time clock was ticking and she was scheduled to be put down 2 days from the time I heard about her. One of the girls at the shelter called a friend of hers who breeds sphynx (Nina Adkins) who in turn called me, who in turn called the shelter. I was scheduled to drive to Kansas that week, the breeder in Dallas, Nina, was planning a trip to Houston that week and I had someone looking for a rescue in east Texas (Bert & Nita). I called them, told them her age and that I didn't even know what color she was or anything about her personality or health at that time. They said, pull her, we will foster her if she doesn't fit here. I called Nina. She went to the shelter, they released Lottie to the DRRL. Nina drove Scared little Lottie to Houston. She spent the night with me and we packed up the next morning to make the trek across the midwest. I drove to the Foster in East Texas. Lottie came out of the carrier purring and head butting Nita / Bert and the new Family. We ate a lovely meal, I spent the night with them and then continued my trip to Kansas. The next day, Bert and Nita took sweet Lottie to the vet. I had noticed in that short time that Lottie was drinking and urinating an awful lot. I had made a list of things to address with their vet and they took that list with them. The vet visit was done, I called Bert and Nita while still on my road trip. Lottie only weighs 5 lbs 4 oz., she only has 2 teeth left, she has an elevated white count, her eyes are weepy, she has Chronic Kidney Failure and she also has deforming Squamos Cell Carcinoma on both ears which twists and knarls the pinna of the ears. She is a sight for sore eyes but she has soul, fight and a loving sweetness that wins you over. When we got her from the shelter, her nails were so long that they curled into her pads and all of the fur on the backs of her hocks was missing which appeared to be from extended time in a cage or other small space, in the same position.
Lottie doesn't have an extended amount of time with us before she makes the trek across the Rainbow Bridge. We tried to contact the family that had turned her in to the shelter, in hopes of finding out a bit more about her past, as well as her breeding pedigree, but unfortunately they gave a bogus name, address and the phone number was disconnected. Nita and Bert then stated that they knew that there was a reason that she had come to them. They volunteered that she stay there and not be moved again until her death. Lottie now sleeps with a family that truly cares about her. She curls up on Nita's pillow, is the only cat in the house, is allowed to be... rest, heal and grow older.
Lottie, your lot in life is to end it as a beloved member of a family that loves you! I can't believe the depth of love that has been shown to this aged girl. I take my hat off to this Foster family who had no idea what they were getting into but who graciously stepped up to the plate after seeing this elderly girl who had yearned for years for a lap instead of a cage to call her own.
My thanks to North Texas Humane Society for releasing her without charge to the DRRL. My thanks to Nina Adkins for retrieving her from the shelter and then driving her to Houston to me and my deepest thanks to Nita and Bert for agreeing to foster this very ill girl and to love her and to give her free run of their house and their hearts for now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
When Lottie passes, Nita and Bert could sure use a kitten!!!

Oh what a story. I'm so thankful that Lollie will be able to have a time of rest, freedom, and most importantly, love from humans. Yes I think Hunny Bunny star in this role. The story needs to be spread far and wide and we need to continue to look out for those who can't speak for themselves.

Thank you Ms. Peach for all you do to educate and inform.

Lorraine

Hunny Bunny, this is your starring role, girl!...It is a sad story that needs to be told; we are so glad she is living with a loving family in a good home now...You will have to stifle your beauty to play poor, ill Lollie, but your beauty will shine through in her loving character; you know, when actresses downplay their beauty for parts, they are usually nominated for Oscars!!...Have a great weekend and thanks for telling us Lollie's hard life story with a happy ending...xo...Calle,Halle,Sukki
