came to live at the cozy cottage. That was exactly 10 years ago this month. She was a senior at 8 years old but we wanted her. She needed to do an important work for my dying mother. To fill her final days with a tender distraction. Miss Peach became a HOSPICE worker and made mother fall in love with her. Not an easy job because mother hated cats! They shared seven weeks together before the Lord released mother from her earthly pain. My brother Tony and sister Patty are all the family I have left...we live in the same town but seldom see each other due to work and life just happening. John Lennon once said, "Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans."My sister Patty called to see how things are going and I told her about sweet Peachy slowly failing. She loves this tiny cat...the last living connection to our mothers last days of happiness. Patty came right over and brought the beautiful purple blanket she made. We had coffee and chatted...then her cell phone rang. It was our brother Tony. Patty asking him to come over and see Peachy but he said he could not. Soon Patty had to go home and as she was leaving, we heard a voice in the driveway...it was my brother Tony! He came! I nearly cried...the three of us have not been together for 10 years since mother's last summer.
Then something really amazing happened...yes it gets better! For 10 years two boxes have sat on the top shelf in the auntie room...boxes that belonged to our mother that we have never unpacked. It seemed like the purrrrfect time to get them down and look inside. One box had a Japanese tea set in it and a German china set. The other box had the treasured photo albums that we thought had been lost many years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pictures of long lost days came flooding back into our minds. Our hearts shouted prayers of thanks for this family reunion and the recovery of memories long buried under cobwebs of our past.
My sister Patty with my Oma's photo album from the 1950's and my brother Tony with the little sled I used to pull him on during the winter's we spend living at our Oma and Opa's house in Bavaria...he could not believe I still had it in my garden shed.
This most unexpected amazing day was a gift to me...to all of us...from my beloved little Miss Peach. She brought us all together...she gave us unforgettable moments that we will always treasure. Miss Peach will leave a legacy of love that will sustain me during sad gray days with smiles in my heart...thank you my precious Peach.
UPDATE:
Tuesday evening: A tiny update...Miss Peach and I are resting on the sofa...most of the evening she lay with her Lapdaddy and that was so wonderful for all of us. I bathed her late this afternoon with just water and held her until she was dry infront of the fireplace. I told her what a good girl she has been to us here at the cozy cottage all these years. She then crawled up onto my arms and snuggled into my neck...I nearly lost it with happy tears. Later she ate and drank another little bit. But she can not go poop...she has no energy and strained so hard...it broke my heart to watch. I fear her system might be shutting down...but I do not know really. She did pee...that is good. I am waiting for her to wake up and I will put her into the little girls room and hope for more. A little food is waiting in the saucer too...it has been a good evening.Thank you all for your sweet thoughts and prayers...we can feel them. Love Karla and Lapdaddy

To be surrounded by so much love is like wafting on a cloud of happiness. Miss Peach, you are a lucky lady, whichever direction you end up taking this time around. And so are those around you who let themselves feel and show all that love for you.

While we have not visited in a while, we have been reading your posts and our hearts just squeeze with sadness knowing Miss Peach is close to the bridge.
But the tears in our eyes today are from the very touching experience that your family had just because Miss Peach brought you together.

I saw your title in my Blogger Reader and expected the worst! Quickly I scanned through and saw the note at the bottom, and my heart calmed to read that Miss Peach is still with you. Then I went back and read the post and shed the tears I expected to shed, but for entirely different reasons. That one tiny little cat could bring such huge blessings to the people in her world makes me think that I could do so much more to be a blessing, too. Thank-you for sharing this very personal story, and your very special blessings....
I came here from the Admiral. hat a touching post. I'll be purring for Misses Peach. My peeps remember how sad when Autumn went OTRB because Autumn was the last thing remaining of Gramma. Healing purrz.

I have tears in my eyes dear Karla. What a wonderful story!!!
Viele liebe Grüße, I think of you all,
Birgit
What a wonderful story of your reunion. We are purring so much for Miss Peach. We all adore her, and we are sure everyone else in the CB feels the same way.
Cody, Gracie and Tara (mom)
Misses Peach is such a magical kitty, bringing something special into your life, and I think her mission with you has been as a reminder to hold dear all those closest to you. Thank you for the gift of your post.
Good gracious that is such a wonderful story. Miss Peach has a lot of strong pull to get all of you together. That is such a good thing. Glad you all had such a good time. Many purrs to Miss Peach. And big hugs to all the humans.
Oh no! We have been away (funeral) and missed so much! We are sorry Miss Peach is ailing. We hope you treasure every moment you have together, and we know you will spoil her rotten until the end. Hugs to you.
Oh yes, they love to be washed with a 'lick dab' when they can't manage it themselves. I get a face flannel, made of terry cloth, not sure if you know what I mean as you may have different names for them over there. ANyway I'd rinse it out inn warm water, then wring it till it was barely damp. Then I dab dab round Fluffy's ears and snout, ending on her eyebrows where she just loved it.
Fluffy got too weak to poop, but as she had eaten so little it might not have been something she needed.
Are you in touch with a vet? Mind you, taking Miss Peach to one will jsut cause her stress. She needs to be snug and safe and secure right now, and snuggling her loved ones.
I know you will instinctively know what to do for her. Trust your tummy vibes!
WIshing strength for you all and for Miss Peach, and hoping she either gently climbs out of this or gently lets go of all her aches and troubles whilst sleeping soundly.
She is such an adorable giver of love. I'm sure she is totally aware that she brought you 3 together, then led you to the boxes. This was her gift to you all. She maybe saying, hey, you have each other, don't forget that.
Fingers toes and paws still crossed...

Tears were streaming down my face as I read your sweet and touching story. Misses Peach has reunited your family. She truly is a blessing from above. I know this is breaking your heart as it is mine. Misses Peach is so loved and such a special kitty.

Misses Peach has always been a giver of great love, just like her Mommy & LapDaddy. I am having trouble expressing just how much I love that little sweet Red-head! Please know that I am thinking of you. Kiss that beautiful little head for her Auntie Deb.
I am crying as I read this, mixed tears of happiness that you had such a reunion and found those memories and sad tears that our darling little Peach is so frail. I remember how I came to meet you when Miss Peach was so ill and how she brought so many people together. Miss Peach you are doing it again and bringing together so many who love you and want thee best for you and your loving family. We send love, purrs and know we think of you.. HUgs Carol and GJ xx

You all don't know how much all of your wonderful comments have meant to all of us and especially for me. Karla is my sister you see and little Peachy is the most special kitty ever. Peachy made my mom's final journey easier and she helped me to try to cope with the awful loss of my mother. When I went to my big sister's house my heart was so broken. I held Peachy in my arms and told her how much I loved her and how truly special she is. I thanked her for being such a great cat ambassador and for still being a wonderful companion. You see, Peachy gave me a Great Gift that day, a reunion with my brother and sister. As we looked at precious pictures and laughed I swear I saw Peachy smiling at us. God Bless You Peachy! From your Auntie Patty

Daddy Kiril especially loved this post because he is his Family Genealogist.
Oh my goodness, the tears are flowing here for everyone there. What an incredible gift dear Ms. Peach has bestowed upon mom and her family. The pictures are terrific and the stories so precious. Visits from siblings, found treasures, Ms. Peach showing her love to mom and Lapdaddy. Oh, it makes me hear sing while it is breaking. Such love and happiness amidst the sadness.
Sending warm wishes and heart felt thoughts to you all.

What a beautiful reunion you brought Miss Peach. Such a wonderful cat you are. It is not easy getting old, is it. I am experiencing it myself. Mom can see the change in me and it concerns her. She says she wants me to live forever, bet your Mom and Lapdaddy says the same. But alas, it cannot be. Purrs and Prayers for you Miss Peach and your family.
