Today we are thinking deeply at the cozy cottage...
Remembering those we have loved...This African violet belonged to my mommy....it is now the prize of our front window. It has bloomed faithfully for ten years now since my mommy went to heaven. It's Victorian frills never fail to delight anyone who sees it. The blooms are the size of an Ike dollar coin! To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common -- this is my symphony. Beautiful post and the words are so true.. We also are thankful for what we have especialy the love. Today also on my post is featured a special flower. Mum says of course you are forgiven. ( nothing to forgive) It will be all the more special for waiting.. Hugs GJ x
Oh such beautiful photos and words, Thanks Miss P.
That is lovely Misses Peach.
Our Gramma had a very long lived African violet too. It may have been as old as 15 years. All it ever did was sit on her bedroom windowsill and bloom faithfully. She lost it in '97 when the Great Flood came to North Dakota and took her entire house too.
Mom is going to copy your verse in her lectio divina journal.
Blessings,
Us

How lovely you look!! That Violet is so exquisite too, almost as pretty as you :)
That is a most thoughtful post you have today.I think it is good to have 'just enough'. However, I hit the jackpot with you ;)
It is good to remember your Mom, and it is so nice that her violet is growing so well too after all these years. You and your 'new' Mom look after it very well.
We are losing some of our pretty snow :o It is very windy and we are getting lots of rain. Mom hopes it will not get too cold as the ground is frozen and the water will hot have anyplace to go . This is indeed a strange Winter. WE are so lucky to have nice warm homes. I wish every kitty did.
Hugs & Kisses Moonshine
