MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

NO TAXES......NO SHELTER!!!!

Kitties I am REALLY mad today!! Meet Sammy...he is a cool ginger boy.
My few furs are sooooo up in a dander right now over this story about Sammy the Post Office cat.

NOTASULGA, Ala. -- "One of the pleasures of living in a small town is having a post office cat," say residents of Notasulga, Alabama.
That's why folks are wondering why Sammy the cat got kicked out of the town's post office.
"He doesn't bother a soul," say residents.
Another adds, "Most of the time he just slept on the table all day."
Sammy's supporters have gathered outside the post office with hopes of getting the cat back in the building.
It started when one upset customer sent a letter to the postmaster. "They said this is a federal building and Sammy doesn't pay taxes so he can't come in," says postal worker Rochelle Langford.
Now residents are all joining forces to get Sammy back inside and legendary Auburn football coach Pat Dye is leading the march. "We ain't worried about football," says Dye. "We're worried about the cat."
Dye's getting plenty of help. Sammy now has a mailbox at the post office, courtesy of a supporter.
Late Friday, postal officials took down the sign banning Sammy the cat. They will, however, try to keep him outside most of the time.

My Hawaiian friend Mr.Whiskers sent it to me yesterday, he has his paw on the pulse of things. I think Cats should be exempt from paying taxes because we are not for profit purrrr factories! Just ask anyone who's blood pressure has gone down after a purr session with us in their laps! You rock Sammy and I am your fan...not just because you are a cool ginger either.

Good Morning Sunshine !!!!!!!
That story makes my furs puff up!!
Why do we keep letting one person spoil things for everyone? Just because they had a had day everyone else has to suffer !
Mom says it reminds her of Mr Spock who once said "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few,or the one"
I always thought it was majority rules! I hope that disgruntled bean is infested by fleas!
Stay cozy Sweetie,

If Sammy's food, litter and the like are taxed than how can they say Sammy isn't taxed and can't enter the building. Even if some items are tax free his medical bills certainly wouldn't be! They stealth tax us cats and then try and stop us going where we want - it's dreadful!

We are furrious with the mean customer that got Sammy thrown out. We hopes the Post Office will let Sammy back in whenever he wants. While we may not pay taxes we do lots of useful things. Maybe the customer would be happier if they had rats in the Post Office????

We wishes all Post Offices had cats. ~Socks, Scylla & Charybdis

We read about this on Singapore Community Cats - poor Sammy. There sure are some mean spirited people about - who could begrudge him some shelter and company? We hope his supporters get Sammy reinstated. Sammy is an asset!

That is so silly - even people don't have to pay taxes to be able to go in the Post Office! I am glad that people are banding together to help Sammy (yay for Pat Dye and everyone else!). Sammy looks like such a nice cat - I hope he finds a forever home they decide he can't be in the P.O.

P.S. to Miss Peach, we peeked at your blog because you are Mickey's girlfriend - you are beautiful! Big purrs to you.

It makes us and Mom so mad when we ready stories like this. Sammy provides a valuable service to the community and should be allowed to stay!

They should not let mean people in the post office!

We were so upsest when we first read this story. If a Library can have a cat, why not a Post Office! I hope Sammy gets to be in as much as he wants, especially when the weather is cold, or wet or hot or windy or stormy or sunny....

This is so ridiculous! Whoever wrote that letter is just.....well a nasty bean!

And to keep Sammy mainly outside defeats the ourpose of the beans trying to get him back inside.

Sheesh! Some beans just have nothing better to do with their time...apparently!

Sammy wasn't disturbing anyone. He should stay.
Have you & your mom read the Mrs. Murphy mysteries? Mrs. Murphy is a PO cat too and has lots of adventures with her kitty friends and Corgi buddy. We think Rita Mae Brown is the author.

I can see you are mad, Miss Peach, and you and we and all the beans who know Sammy have the right to be mad! I can understand some people have problems with it, but... Sammy was allowed there first, he was the official post office cat, he lived there! How can a stupid answer as "he pays no taxes," change that?
WE are mad, too!!!

Purrs,
~Ruis

Miss Peach, because a lot of things happened one after another, we could not help Ruis with his bloggie. He missed you, like we did, but now we slowly start again from where we stopped.
Love to your Mommy and Lapdaddy, and of course big (((HUGS))) to you, sweetheart!

How upsetting, that one mean bean could have so much power over a sweet cat who brings love and joy to so many...he probably helps sort the mail too! We hope he gets back in the post office where he belongs.

We heard about Sammy! The person who wrote the mean stupid letter complaining is a big #$@%@ our mom says. We can't really repeat what our mom said, because it's not nice. We think Sammy should go anywhere he damn well pleases, some people need to get a life. He's a cute cat, who's he offending?!!

Hi Miss Peach, I am so happy that they got Sammy his own PO Box, now we can all send him mail!
