MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

MISS MINKA'S FAVORITE SPOT

Song birds now raise their babies close to her spot...
Furry visitor's come and rest in her peaceful spot...wind chimes tinkle in the gentle breezes...faeries dance across the moss pot on the chair in twilight...
She used to spend her summer days slumbering under the hosta plants...now wild columbine dots it's way merrily around her favorite spot...
Here is her final earthly resting spot...beneath the slumbering kitty...seven years now gone, my beloved companion of 18 years... Thank you for sharing your life with us...

~~~Where to Bury A Cat~~~
There are various places within which a cat may be buried. We are thinking now of a tabby cat, a striped cat, whose coat was like watered silk, and who, so far as we are aware, never entertained a mean or an unworthy thought. This cat is buried beneath a cherry tree, under four feet of garden loam, and at its proper season the cherry strews petals on the green lawn of his grave. Beneath a cherry tree, or an apple, or any flowering shrub of the garden, is an excellent place to bury a good cat. For beneath such trees, such shrubs, he slept in the drowsy summer, or chased bees, or lifted head to challenge some winged intruder. These are good places, in life or in death. For if the cat be well remembered, if sometimes he leaps through your dreams actual as in life, eyes kindling, questing, asking, laughing, begging, it matters not at all where that cat sleeps at long and at last. On a hill where the wind is unrebuked and the trees are roaring, or beside a stream he knew in kitten hood, or somewhere in the flatness of a pasture land, where the most exhilarating moles burrow. It is all one to the cat, and all one to you, and nothing is gained, and nothing lost -- if memory lives. But there is one best place to bury a cat. One place that is best of all. If you bury him in this spot, the secret of which you must already have guessed, he will come to you when you call -- come to you over the grim, dim frontiers of death, and down the well-remembered path, and to your side again. And though you call a dozen living cats, they shall not hiss at him, nor resent his coming, for he is yours and he belongs there. People may scoff at you, who see no lightest blade of grass bent by his footfall, who hear no mew pitched too fine for mere audition, people who may never really have had a cat. Smile at them then, for you shall know something that is hidden from them, and which is well worth the knowing. The one best place to bury a good cat is in the heart of his owner.
This is so true... After all My Mummy had to bury her old cat Barbie-Q in Canada where they used to live and I know she's still with My Mummy to this day! She is after all part of what made My Mummy right for me... All those years of meezer training and love made her just right for me, as I love more than a meezer and grumble less I'm told! ;) Maybe I'll grumble more next wee if I survive Dad's cooking... ;)
Purrs,
Ramses
When we moved to O Hi O my Mommy had a hurt heart becuase we had to leave her Payton Kitty in Kansas City. Everyone was so nice to remind us that her spirit really is right here - in Mommy and Daddy's heart!
We love that poem and had it saved on our computer.
Miss Minka has a wonderful resting spot.
Miss Peach you have a beautiful garden with lots of birdie friends to visit. Our Mom has pictures of those who came before us and her eyes always leak as she smiles and remembers the wonderful lives they led.
Hello my dear ones. I am teary eyed and sniffly with the beauty of your pictures and poem today as well as seeing the beautiful bracelet you made for Stormie's Mommy. I know she will cherish it always.
Karla, how lucky every kitty is, that has you for a Mommy. How lucky we all are to call you friend.
Miss Peach looks so cute next to Maxime. :) What are you doing today? Napping and snuggling and eating well I hope. Make sure Mommy Karla takes time to relax after all of that weeding and cleaning up her patio.
I will be by to visit tomorrow as I am determined not to miss visiting you every day. Yesterday was far too busy and I had no fun time at all.
I hope you are having a beautiful summer day. I'm sending you Love and Gentle Hugs!
Always,
Lorianna
What a beautiful final resting spot for your beloved Miss Minka. It is so tranquil there. Your garden is extraordinarily beautiful! Mommy has pictures of the ones who went before. It is hard for her to look at them without tearing up.
truer words were never spoken. even in 1921 before it was the "norm" he knew the importance of a kitty in a person's life. more than a pet, a part of the family. we are always with our beans.
Miss Minka has a lovely spot to rest in, both the garden, and the heart.
Oh ist der niedlich, der kleine Vogel-Wohnwagen. Sorry, dass ich zur Zeit sooo wenig Zeit habe für Kommentare, liebe Karla.
Trotzdem bekomme ich die ATCs wohl rechtzeitig fertig. Hatte noch auf 2 Stempelchen gewartet, die ich bestellt hatte.
Liebe Grüße aus Germany und bitte drückt die Daumen für unsere Jungs am Mittwoch, Birgit
What a wonderful story. And it is so true. The best place is always in our hearts that way they are always with us.
Lovely post and very pretty and peaceful pictures. They remind Mom of a garden she had once years ago in her house from before.
My sweet, darling sister, what a beautiful post, and what a beautiful resting place for precious Miss Minka. Mom and I have misty eyes -- how lovely that the faeries visit her at twilight. What a blessing that Miss Minka shared eighteen wonderful years with your family.
Mom has long loved that piece, "Where to Bury a Cat." It is so wise, poignant, lovely and true.
Speaking of family, I am so blessed to have you as my precious sister! I am sorry I've not been online as much -- Mom has been very busy working on her novel and lots of other things have made the days so hectic and fast-moving, but she's hoping things will calm down enough to where we Ballicai can blog again more regularly. *smile* Every day I think of you, and I love you very much. I hope you are enjoying your lovely summer days, dear heart!
Much love and floofysistersnuggles and warm purrs from your adoring Marilyn.
That last line has been one of my favorites for years: The one best place to bury a good cat is in the heart of his owner. How very true.
