MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT...

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want...

Lewis County Washington, December 5, 2007 We have been flooded out of our home and are farm. We have lost 75 percent of our flock and I do not want to even think about how the 22 that survived have survived. We do not believe we had any ground that was not under water Monday night. It has been a series of events that I cannot yet fathom. We knew we would be getting high water Monday as it rained all night long. I woke to the sound many times overnight. Living in a flood prone area you just know when the river will rise and watch the signs. Knowing how fast and furious this flood came upon us was unpredicted and I believe unpredictable. We survived the 100 year flood in 1996 so once we realized it was to be that way or worse we were already cut off from any roads off our property.
There was no escape.
I had taken the kids to school in the morning as usual, the water was 5 feet away from our road but, it has been higher, so life in Lewis county goes on. About 9:30 the reports began to predict that this flood would be almost as bad as the '96 flood. I began to think about getting the kids back from school. Brad was out moving the rams out of their pen to a drier, higher area. I helped a bit as the reports on the radio were not alarming ...yet. Then it changed. Suddenly we were seeing that this water was coming up even faster than in 1996.

I can not imagine the sadness of loosing all you have ever worked for in your life to the ravages of nature. So many loving, giving, caring people have come to the aid of the BLACK SHEEP CREAMERY by giving of their talents to auctions.

If you visit the auction page at the link below, you can see the treasures up for consideration:

Tomorrow I will have a little something on my blog up for auction. Valentine's Day is coming and you might just like it:)
I am just a little cat who can not do great things, but I can do little things with great love...

How very sad that they lost everything. :( It is wonderful that so many people are helping them. You are very generous to offer something up for auction, Miss Peach.

Oh that's so sad... Our local area is under serious flood warnings at present and our Nana's village just 5 miles from here was flooded last summer, lucky for us we'z on high ground even if we're close to a brook! We'z keepin' our paws crossed that we'z don't get floodin' here as those affected by the summer floods are not yet back in their homes... :( I'z can't imagine just how sad it would be to loose everything to a nasty flood, just the thought of damp fur is enough to send me running for the nearest radiator!

Purrs,
Ramses

Oh what terribly sad news. I certainly hope everything will turn around for them soon. It is great that they have such generous people helping out. It surely puts our minor problems into perspective.

Oh, those poor little sheep! I'm trying not to think about how terrified they must have been. It is so sad. It's so kind of you to bring this to light and give people the chance to help. This life can be hard sometimes, but there are angels, human and animals that make it easier to handle.
Love and Purrs,

Ironically I've just started my own flood watch again, as I live on Dreamingspires flood plain.
But reading about the farm & all the poor flock lost was heart breaking.

Sweet Miss Peach, you are sweet to help them. It's so very sad that they lost so much. We live on a river too, but happily don't often have to worry about floods.

It was very sad there. We had many friends who donated time and we helped with money and such for people there. It was so sudden when the levee broke so these were not people who were used to being flooded out either!

I know they still need a lot of help there and you are very generous to offer to help out!
