MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

NO NO BAD KITTY!!!

I always wonder if Van Gogh had a bad redheaded kitty! Miss Peach does not want to take her medicine and all we do is fight over it. At last count the pill spitting contest is heavy in her court! After three attempts, it was too dissolved to continue...so I gave up...bandaged my thumb and took an aspirin (see Peach it is real easy...just swallow!) and now we will sleep together because all is forgiven.

NO I AM NOT GOING TO CUT YOUR EAR OFF!!

Come on now...seems we both have our crowns on too tight right now! We need to remember Santa Claws will be coming to good kitties!!

Wouldn't it be easier to try pill pockets? Or don't you have them where you are?

Miss Peach, you have to quit giving your Mommy a hard time and take those pills.

Mom used that piller gadget with us. It works. Daddy usually is the holder and mommie is the mouth opener and pill shooter. She is a nurse, she always gets her way. Sometimes if you clamp the mouth shut after the pill goes in, it has no where to go but down... maybe a tiny squirt of H2O with a syringe will help it go down.

Mommy says that it's only cats that are getting better who fight the pill...so this might mean your on the way to being well! Mommy will still keep waving her wand for you anyways! Oh, Miss Peach, you look awfully sweet on that flowered rug. Now you just need to swallow your pills. Your Momma wouldn't give them to you if they weren't good for you. My Lap Lady loves that ginger kitty picture!

Taking pills is yucky Miss Peach but you must to stay health. One time Lucy bit mom so hard she bleeded too.

Pill Pockets and a piller are great suggestions. You can also try getting a pill grinder and then mixing the powder with something very delicious like tuna. The trick to that is you have to eat ALL of the tuna to get the full dose. Good luck!

Miss Peach - we hate taking medicines too but sometimes you just have too because it will make you feel better. At least that is what Mommy told us last time she had to give us drugs!!

I used to be a champion pill spitter! Not even the vet could manage the Piller devise with me all the time, then Momma got pill pockets... Love Um! I think the fishy ones are the best. If you have to disguise medicines it in wet food Friskies® Tender Cuts With Ocean Whitefish in Sauce is ideal (a breeder recommended this to us) and it has worked every time. Both Empress and I will lick the bowl clean even with medics in it. ~Queen Snickers

Oh Miss Peach you must take your meds! I have to make a kitty burrito by wrapping my kitties up in big bath towels when they need medicine. Still they manage to spit it out. Stinkers. :) Please stay well Miss Peach we all love you so.
Hugs and Purrs,

Oh, Miss Peach, you must take your medicine. We want you to be well for your next tea party. Cotton had such a good time. She said next time Crystal should come because he's the oldest and he has never been to a tea party before.

So swallow your pills, Miss Peach, and get well.

we was gonna suggest pill pockets too.

Now, Miss Peach sweetie, please take your pills like the gentle ladycat that you are, and none of this rude spitting.

Our Dear Miss Peach -
Hrmph - we left you a message earlier, but the Blogger ate it - and didn't spit it out! (better than we do with pills) - we HATE taking pills and are both very adept at holding them in our mouth until mom turns around then we spit them out - then she calls us dirty words!

But you must try and be good to your mom - maybe a little butter on it would make it taste better?

Goodness, Miss Peach! You really need to take your medicine, sweetheart. We don't want you getting sick again! And just think of all the worry you put your mommy through!

Purrs to you both. <3

Sweet Miss Peach, you really should take your medicine! Maybe the V-E-T could make your medicine in liquid?

Can you take them pills in liquid form instead Miss Peach? Meowm likes to only give me liquids....she says it is easier. But please Miss Peach, take your medicine....all of kitties want you as healthy as possible!

My precious sister Peachy, you simply must take your medicine. I know it's hard -- pills are icky and ooky -- but please try to get them down.

And now Mom is going to talk to your Mom; cover your ears with your paws, dear...

Hi, Mommy Karla! Pill pockets are an excellent suggestion -- I tried them recently on the Ballicai and they worked wonderfully. Just be careful not to handle the pill pocket with the same hand which handles the medicine, else Miss Peachy Pie will probably smell the medicine on the pill pocket and not want to eat it! Otherwise, they work great -- they smell very strong and taste wonderful to kitties.

The piller gadget sounds like a great idea, too, though I don't have one of those -- it sounds like many kitty parents have good luck with them, though.

Another alternative, and only do this if Miss Peachy's medicine is not time-release (check with your vet) is to crush the pills into a fine powder and mix it with a tiny dibble of cream cheese, then rub the cream cheese on Miss Peachy's little paws for her to lick off.

Good luck -- you are a wonderful cat mom. I feel for you -- Brainball was a champion pill-spitter when he had bronchitis and I finally was able to get his medicine in him using the cream cheese method, then I found out about those wonderful pill pockets!

Here's Marilyn again...

Okay, sister dear, you can take your paws off your ears now, *smile*.

I'm sending worlds of love and sistersnuggles and warm purrs!

Yes, I think Van Gogh had an ancestor of our naughty little flower-eating orange kitty, Dee Dee. Hope the next pill-taking goes more smoothly for you both. Cindy at Rosehaven Cottage

I find it amusing to confound the humans as to how to get meds into me as well. I am impressed with your prowess. However, the pill pockets are a good idea. I know I've seen them at petco in Redmond.

Scooby, Shaggy & Scout said...

Oh sweet Peach, you really need to take those!
Has mom tried rolling them in butter?

Dear Miss Peach,
SS is sending this from Cambodia where connection is a little erratic. She can't see any of your photos and the blogger roll in our bloggie completely disappears. you should try to take those medicine - it's not nice but it's good for you. Thankyou for sending bracelet set. It would be so nice to be able to give SS a Christmas present first time in my life.
