  6. I too loved the fact that the new Pope chose the name Francis. Perhaps along with working on some of the other issues in the Catholic church, more attention will be brought to animals -- we surely need that -- the world over.

What an adorable depiction of St. Francis.
Thank you for sharing that with us.

    Hugs, pets and purrs,
    Lorraine

  8. I really like that rendition of St. Francis.

I'm not Catholic, but it seems the new Pope is making a good impression. Much needed, I'm sure.

Thanks for the mention of "carbonite." I might look into it for my personal files!

  9. I think I saw this painting on Etsy :)
I love depictions of St Francis.
St Clare was a friend of his, of course, and as he was founding the Franciscans she was founding the Poor Clares with is help. St Clare is usually depicted holding a monstrance, an adorned item used for displaying the consecrated host. BUT if you search, you may find images of her depicted with CATS as she loved them, and is patron of Cat Lovers. I have a card with this, and I'll scan a copy for you :)
