With a heavy heart and tears falling...the cozy cottage will say goodbye to beautiful Lena. She will be going back home on Friday. Several different reasons have made this very difficult decision necessary. It is one that Dennis and I reached together after much prayer.

We have learned much in the month that we have shared with lovely Lena... that she is the most beautiful cat we have ever seen...sweet and playfull and a joy to snuggle with. We have learned much about ourselves...that try as hard as we may, we sometimes fail with our attempts to make problems work out. We have failed Lena. PLEASE keep us all in your prayers...

The snow is gone this week and I am so glad....now I can go and sit on the front porch again and watch bird TV live and in purrrrson! Lena has to watch fron inside because she is nakked and would freeze like a popsicle out here! She likes to watch the mourning doves and her jaw chatters while she talks to them...

It has been a mighty cold, windy and snow filled week here in the desert! Oh but we have something called a Chinook Wind that sometimes comes blowing it's warmth across the frozen white melting it in record time. For now, I am staying under the warm blanket until the snow is all gone...probably until Spring.

It has been such a lovely weekend at the cozy cottage...content kitties...

a beautiful sunset to end another day...a day filled with good coffee, some naps and even some creative rubber stamping. I even found some time to organize some of my craft drawers...January is a good time to begin decluttering. We are just happy to be able to do ordinary things that many would find very boring...but we feel blessed. We have been so very lazy at the cozy cottage this weekend...laying around on the sofa watching football...falling off to sleep...not doing anything productive. That is not like us, but once in awhile we just have to take a time out. Ever have days like that? This is Lena stuffed down between me and Lapdaddy sharing a bit of each of our blankets. She looks so calm...but only when she is asleep!!

I wanted to see the beautiful Christmas cards that many of you so thoughtfully sent to us. So I put them under the plastic tablecloth...why didn't I think of that before!? See the beautiful Bavarian tea cup...that was a gift from Auntie Deb...oh and the most delicious Christmas Stollen was baked for mommy by the amazing sweet Church lady. It is to die for delish and very authentic in it's German taste. We are so lucky to be so loved...

We had a fun and quiet New Years Eve...French dip sandwiches and sparkling cider...lights out at 2:00 because I had to be at Church by 8:00....lots of naps in store for today!

Look close...can you see Lena? She does blend into the carpet with her tortieness! She also likes to play chase the red dot... She is so sweet and comes when I call her name, but will not settle into our laps yet...she prefers the safety of her room (Lapdaddy's office) for now. Cole and his daddy Oliver came over today and she was so friendly to them...they think she is beautiful! Just don't ask Hunny Bunny about her yet...her feelings are a bit on edge. I am giving her extra attention right now and she is enjoying that...

Mommy here: So far so good with the introduction...they look at each other, then make some grumpy noises...then run in opposite directions. I do think Hunny Bunny has her feelings a bit hurt that she once again has to share the cozy cottagers with a newcomer. She is a sweet kind and big hearted kitty so I am hopeful she will forgive me....I am showering her with love and praise.

Ten o'clock and all is well at the cozy cottage...we have returned safely from our trip to the ocean and collecting Lena. She has had her first meal in her fancy cut glass bowls.

Lapdaddy has showered her softness with kisses...she has been busy rearranging his desk top for him...

Now it is time for me to put her to sleep on her sofa under her heated blanket...she has already deleted the blog post I put up by shutting down the computer with her curious paws....she like to constantly close to you, in your face on your lap over your shoulder under your arm pit. I know there will be lots of misspelled words on our blog from now on... I brought back quite a cold fron the ocean also, so I am feeling icky to say the least. A good cuppa Constant Comment with a triple spoonfull of orange brandy took the edge off so I am off to bed now too...Cole will be here later this Christmas Eve so I need to rest up. I still have so much to warp and I need to spend some time with Hunny Bunny alone. We wish you all the most wonderfur Merry Christmas you have ever had...it will not be dull around here these next few days that is fur sure!

We could not wait any longer to meet Madame Lena Rosebud Von Dragonheart...so we stopped off in Portland and spent an hour at Diana's house... Lena came right up to Lapdaddy and gave a tail's up salute! YEAH I think she might like him!! Then she climbed up in his lap and gave him a little kissy on the forehead!!!

More happy pictures tomorrow...today we are going shopping in Lincoln City...the antique stores will be quiet this time of year and I like that. Oh the week is off to a wonderfurless start!!!!

We would like to introduce you to our Christmas kitty Lena...she will be coming home with us next weekend God willing. You saw her baby picture earlier this week and in the picture below she is a few weeks old. No longer a kitten at 18 months old...she is a beautiful grown up lady cat. A retired show Champion and mother of a litter of sweet kitties....she had done much in her short months.

Our laps have been so empty since our beloved Miss Peach flew over the rainbow bridge...it was then that Miss Diana (Peachy's former foster mommy and rescuer) contacted me with an amazing offer. The gift of Lena...we were just so overwhelmed by this generous offer that we could hardly believe it! These are Lena's siblings below...a fine curious bunch...she is on the far right. Nom nom nom nom....warm turkey is so yummy on a chilly day. This is Meme who is Scrappy Cats kitten from this spring. She is as big as Scrappy now but thankfully does not have her witchy purrrrsonality. She comes with her tail up when I go outside...

Her daddy Lion is such a fine gentleman...he always waits while she eats first. They have both grown a fine thick fur coat to ward off the chill. We have placed the heated water dish out for them and they have been sleeping in the fine straw of the kitty condo Lapdaddy built for them...they are happy and so are we. Since Lion has been nutered, he is looking quite well and does not have those battle scars all over this head anymore. Scrappy Cat is still witch slapping our sweet Hunny Bunny any chance she gets...I have to watch her so close when I let her in the garden.
I am feeling a bit better and thank you all for your nice wishes...happy third Advent Sunday to all....love form the cozy cottage

This is mommies birthday gift from her grandchildren that she got last year! It is a Christmas cactus and once again in full glorious bloom! Not easy to do because one must be very patient and not move the cactus from it's place in the window other than to wash the leaves or water it. We love the hot pink color because it is so 50's retro!

Tonight we will light two candles on honor of advent...mommy will be very careful with them.

we will be thinking real hard about our friends who are sick right now and those who are sad at the passing of their beloved furs...but we know there will be a glad reunion one fine day in heaven.

our Christmas table is very humble this season...the nativity figures were bought in 1971 in Germany...the fabric tree mommy made in 1985 and it is still her favorite...the LOOK magazine is from December 1956 and the string of lights is newly crafted with tulle bows tied in bright Christmas shades of cranberry and pine. The table cloth belonged to mommies Oma in Bavaria...we love that it has red candle wax stains on it from Weihnachten of long long ago...

It is not easy to get good pictures in the darkness of the evening with only the Advent candle shedding it's light in the cozy cottage...but we tried and I posed quite well. In the top snap, mommy focused on the foreground of the berries and you can see I am slightly out of focus in the back.

I hope you had a wonderful THANKSGIVING with lots of treats. The garden kitties got a whole Frisbee full of turkey...it was empty in no time! They are also keeping warm in the straw filled kitty condo Lapdaddy built for them. That is a good thing because it is getting a bit of a winter chill in the air around here. We have had the fireplace on and mommy gave me Miss Peach's blue down vest to put under my blanket in the window...now it is warm and poofy. So let the snowflakes fly!!! I love sitting in the front window and having the sun shine on my furs. My mohair blanket that Miss Peach gave me is always waiting for my afternoon nap. Mommy is going to have some of the most wonderful banana nut bread she ever tasted to go along with her coffee and I will get some special Temptation treats later. Our dear friend Desert Rose spoiled us with a goody bag at church yesterday...friends with loving hearts are worth more than gold! The butterfly fairie has come to live at the cozy cottage...she flew all the way up here from the Sherwood Forest in Texas with greetings from ML and Auntie Deb attached.

She also brought the most wonderful gift of vintage German scrap pages...these are a true treasure and mommy cried when she saw them because she remembered having them as a child in Bavaria...her Opa used to bring them for her often when he returned from town. Below is the white kitty that came to live with our bunnies on the fireplace mantle...we adore her and the bunnies think she is just too sweet!

Our last gifty they sent along was the MY CAT quilty with a picture of me on, it Miss Hunny Bunny!!! We are so thankful for the kindness and thoughtfulness of our friends. They help to heal the Peach shaped hole in our hearts with their love...

Our teenager has been here to visit and we have been watching lots of ballgames on the TV...the World Series YEAH CARDINALS!!! and the HUSKIES of Washington!

Lots of fun Halloweeny stuff has been coming into our mailbox!

This most precious kitty figurine came to us from the hearts of sweet ML and Auntie Deb. She matches our bunnies so purrrrrfectly and we love our treasure!

Mommy has been busy playing with papers making Halloween ATC's...she is such a little girl at heart. Tomorrow is Halloween...that is our precious Miss Peach and her handsome Mickey's second wedding anniversary. They will be celebrating from heaven and hope that you all remember how happy their lives were here with us...and once again in heaven because they are together!

I was sleeping in my flower pot on the front porch when the door opened. My Lapdaddy came out and I followed him to see what he was going to be up to. I thought he was going to check the mail box but.....he has something that he was putting up for mommy to make her smile. A little birdy nesty thing on the pretty metal box holder...mommy always has some crazy honeydo stuff to make the place more cozy...and I have to snopervise it all!

MY Buddy and me were starving feral kitties when we found our way to the cozy cottage garden. I was a tired worn out mommy cat with three kiddens to feed. We were so lucky to be shown love, given shelter and lots of good food to eat. We were spayed and nutered and my kittens adopted to the best home where they still are. Now I live inside the cozy cottage and wonder where my good friend Buddy went to on walkabout..we all miss him. Please help any kitty without a home that you can...PLEASE! Now Scrappy Cat and Lion live in the garden with their kittens Spooky and Little Scrap...we thank you so much for the contributions in the Chip In to help pay for their Vet bills. You have no idea how much that helps the beans and warms my formerly feral kitty heart. We do all we can to help them each day. Now there will be no more kittens because they are fixed...safely vaccinated and flea and ear mite treated. We celebrate NATIONAL FERAL CAT DAY!!

It has been a wonderfur weekend so far...mommy is feeling all better thanks to my nursing skills and the coffee is tasting good she said. I spent lots of time in the sunny window drinking in the warm rays of autumn. the dogwood trees are beginning to look stunning in their fall foliage and are filled with red berries for the birds later this winter. Cole is in Seattle with his daddy and the got to see the Huskies beat Colorado. A wonderful weekend trip to Pikes Place Market, the original Starbucks Coffee Shop for a Pumpkin Latte, the Bavarian Meat Market for some fine German chocolates, pizza, walks along the pier. Lots of fun father/son memories made! We are counting our many blessings... Mommy thinks the kitty in her graphic reminds her of Jasper Ginger climbing around in his garden...we are so glad he is doing better and thank you for those purrrrs....we love you all so much!

This is the coolest cat I have ever seen! How wonderfur that a kind purrrrson saved his beautiful life so many years ago. I have been on nurse duty for a few days now. Mommy kitty has been sicky and staying asleep in bed for hundreds of hours. I have stayed in bed watching over her and Lapdaddy came often to see if we were doing alright or needed something. Last night mommy ate for the first time in two days...some noodle soup and crackers. She has not had any coffee in days so you know she must really be sick. Each day gets better and that is a good thing because my nurse cap keeps slipping off of my furry head! While I am worried about mommy...we are ALL worried about our dear friend Ginger Jasper and little Truffle right now...please purrrrr real hard for them to get all better very soon.

The mornings are a bit chilly now that October is here...the leaves are beginning to turn a little bit red on the dogwood tree and the spiders have laid their egg sacks...the praying mantis on our patio has laid her egg case on the screen frame. I hope the garden kitties stay snug in the big condo Lapdaddy made for them. We keep it on the quiet side of the house where no one ever goes except the meter reader purson, once a month. Thank you for all the nice birthday wishes for Cole...he had a fun weekend riding his new Razor scooter...mommy made him her special Hungarian Goulash with Spaezle and the whole gang played cards in the evening while eating brownies and French vanilla ice creme and drinking coffee...yes it was a good birthday weekend.

I decided to try out the new spread mommy put on the sofa. It is so soft and fluffy...and very pretty too. I like looking at pretty things...I like roses. If you look close into my eyes, you will see that they are two different colors. The top part of my eye is citrine yellow...the lower part of my eye is aquamarine blue. I am not an odd eyed cat...but my eyes are odd...though VERY MYSTERIOUS!

This is Spooky...he weighs 12 pounds! Dearest friends we thank you for all of your kind comments about not letting go of Miss Peach's things. She has so many wonderful things and we really do want to share them with those who loved her so much. Many of you suggested a chip in button on our side bar...but it seems that our side bar has mysteriously dropped to the bottom of our page and we do not know why....or how we can fix it back to where it needs to be. We won't get the Vet bills until the end of the month so that is good anyway. Another thing that is really good is to remember that it is better to be poor and happy than rich and miserable. Oh and another REALLY GOOD THING...I got to love on the old feral black kitten that Scrappy Cat had last summer! When he was still in his holding cage after the surgery...I slipped a bowl of food inside and he pushed against my hand...he didn't want the food but he wanted to rub on my hand. I gentle moved my fingers into his waiting furs and he began to purrrrrr!!!! That brought tears to my eyes. I now have the greatest hope to be friends with him like I did for our sweet Buddy... I have named him Spooky in honor of his sister Boo Boo who went over the rainbow bridge last weekend...we can all use some good mews and are happy to share this. Please keep our dearest ML in your prayers for a continued recovery and that darling Beau will find a furever home where he can be king of someone's heart once again.

Though there are tears in the night...rejoicing comes in the morning... We are sad beyond belief to have to tell you that precious BooBoo kitten went to heaven to be with our sweet Miss Peach. We wanted to give her a beautiful life in the cozy cottage garden after her spa day...but it was not to be. She went to sleep after the kind Vet determined she would never have a chance at growing up healthy due to a severe set of rib cage and sternum deformities. Scrappy Cat and Little Scrap...Lion and the black kitten Scrappy had last summer all are well after their spa day. It has been a long hard emotional weekend for us at the cozy cottage. We will take a few days to gather up our broken hearts and then ask for your help to get us by as the vet bills come in. We will auction off some of dear Miss Peach's food dishes, her tea pot and a blanket or two. Thank you for loving us so much and understanding our sadness...

ANOTHER UPDATE: We have mommy cat and the two kittens and Lion so far....now for the last kitten from last summer! Keep your paws crossed for us in this adventure!UPDATE: YEAH one kitten is in the trap! Now Lion has a baby close to him! Three more to go! Hello dear friends...today is the day we need to catch the garden kitties! Oh so far we have not had the best of luck...I tried to set the traps and rigged a string (biggy the picture and you can see the jerry rig string thingy) to pull once they are inside eating. It will make the door slide down and catch them safely... Boy oh boy is Scrappy Cat smart...she did not come by last night for the evening feeding. She kept her kittens safely hidden...sure do hope they will be good and hungry today. Her boyfriend Lion was not quite as smart...he is a guy after all. He went in and I pulled the string and it worked like a charm...down came the door. He is safe inside the garage now waiting for company from his family. Saturday morning is the spay and neuter clinic. Please keep your paws crossed for us today...we want to give these kitties a good chance at a happy kidden free life.

Today you see the wonderful teddy bear from my friend Lorian Baker...he came with the sweetest card on glittery angel wings to bring tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. You see, Lorian collects teddy bears and I just know that this one came from her purrsonal collection. He is a very special bear because he comes from my homeland West Germany and he is very old. I bet she even bought him there too! How kind must a heart be to give over a beloved stuffy to soothe away the ache in someone's empty arms...I say off the scale kind because I now hold the fuzzy bear to my cheek and am thankful for my precious friend!

For Miss Peach
The princess of blogger cats has curled up her tail and snuggled down for the last time. Poor, dear Miss Peach, whose gave us so many smiles and, at almost 19, gave me so much hope when my own, shall we say, 'more advanced in meows' cat, Scooter, was unwell.
Dear Miss Peach. Thousands of miles away, yet her peachiness, gentle, yet knowing and strong, reached all the way to Colchester.
I was late discovering she had moved on as I'd been unable to log on.... I only found out today and have wept buckets for my dear friend across the pond.
I wore my peach coloured scarf when I went to the shops, and chose some flowers... which ones, I thought, as I walked round the flower stall.... suddenly the absolute perfection in peachiness appeared. A mixture of pink carnations and orange roses. Who on earth would normally put those together in a bouquet? Yet together they were perfect- peachy.
I have placed them in a vase near an orangey pottery cat. Nearby, little Fluffy's precious ashes, and a candle for each of them.....

These pages and pictures give me comfort and hope...I love this book by Christine Davis and reach for it often during the day...I bought it ten years ago when Miss Minka went to be with her guardian angel. Cole is here with me today and that is comforting to my heart. I am tired and sleep is a comfort too...Soon autumn is coming and I will nest on the sofa. Often surrounded by many visions of yesterdays' while being thankful for every new one my tomorrows' will bless me with.

These are my favorite things I have been looking at all week on my kitchen windowsill...I see them dozens of time as I stand at the sink where Peachy loved to bug me for a drink. A little shrine of beauty...the mini me from ML and Auntie Deb...a tiny Peachy I bought in Leavenworth...the shimmery card from sweet Helena...my favorite picture I took of Peachy...her Staffordshire china bowl now in purrmanent retirement. It joins the creme saucer that belonged to Miss Minka, the cat who came before her...and the scrap of her last bag of crunchies. I love it because it shows how we lived our lives, two smiling redheads who loved the nightime.

STRANGELY QUIET...

Today is hard for me...I keep listening for the pet door to slam...Peachy used to rush into the kitchen like a spitfire...now the counter is bare...her China water cup placed back in the cupboard. No water puddles to mop up, Peachy used to paddle the water out of her bowls. I long to be startled out of my wits in the quiet of the night by Peachy jumping up on the counter looking to open the kitchen faucet for a drink. The mornings seem strange for Lapdaddy who always popped open the foody cans, scooped the goodness into her Staffordshire cat bowl, place it into the micro for 10 seconds then gave it to a waiting eager little red cat. The cozy cottage is strangely quiet...I hear her purring when I cover myself on the sofa at night with her soft fleecy blanket...Peachy taught me so very much. She never complained that she was sick, never wanted to be a burden on us only wanting to lay her head in the arms of love...

SUNSHINE WARMS MY FURS...

Mommy laid on the pillow next to me on the patio...it is good to be close to a beloved... It was another gold star day in the sunshine. I ate and drank a little bit and used the litter box. Mommy had to help me a little bit with #2 so I did not strain myself too much. Since I am so weak, I have trouble pushing. Mommy gave me a bath in the kitchen sink this time. I just stood in the warm water and it also ran all over my furs from the faucet. I felt like I was standing under a waterfall. We cuddled together in a nice soft blanket to dry me off. It is good to feel fresh and clean even when most of your parts are worn out....

Everyone is admiring my report card because I got another gold star...though I am getting so very thin, I still seem to want to eat and drink somewhat. That is a very good thing. Cole and his daddy Oliver love me so much and today I got so many soft pets and kisses...it is good to be loved. They stayed here all day...that is a very good thing too! I thank you all so much for your visits and fine thoughts you send my way...I can feel them and they cover me gently...

MY DAYS WITH HOSPICE CARE...

It is not a welcome fact that I am in Hospice care at the cozy cottage right now. Most humans enter this type of end of life care within six months of going to their bridge. That is what brought me here to be with my mommy's mom Kitty. She has been gone now 10 years. I have lived a wonderful life here since that first day I came. I was rescued, as a senior kitty of almost nine years old, to be an end of life CATpanion to a dying lady who did not like cats. I became a Hospice volunteer and spent six weeks with grandma Kitty, who soon came to love me. I did my job very well...now mommy is doing many of the things to take care of me that I saw her do to mommy Kitty. Preparing special meals and making sure lots of water is always close by. Washing down my furs with warm fresh cloths, cleaning my eyes and mouth and nose and ears daily, sometimes two or three times. She does it very gently and then kisses me on the head. When I am done, I always get my special treats that I love so much, Greenies and Party Mix. I am watched over very close all the time. Mommy goes to bed late around 4am and Lapdaddy gets up at 6am, so I have constant care and full dishes. No kitty could ask for more better love and care. Mommy told me she will give me a report card of quality of life that came from Teri and the Furrydancers...I got a gold star today because I passed. It is a good day...thank you all for your precious comments and that you think about us in your busy days...

PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK...

Miss Peach picked the purrrrfect hiding spot last night in Lapdaddy's workshop! It was late and we wanted to kiss her goodnight...but we could not find her anywhere. Cole and I looked for almost half and hour...we could hear her breathing when all was real still in the workshop. We began opening all the cabinets but no Peachy in sight. Then we opened the big drawer under the work table and out peeked her tiny ginger face.

Even Hunny Bunny was helping us look...

Mommy put a soft fleecy under her in the drawer because sitting on all those rough sanding disks is not good for a gentle old lady cat.

Hunny Bunny said, "I do not understand why Peachy climbed into that drawer to hide herself away...but she has always done the silliest things."

I did something quite different today...I went into the garage which is right next to my auntie room. My sweet Lapdaddy was working in there making some new gingerbread trim for the house. I wanted to be closer to him...you see...I did something yesterday that I have never done to him before...I hissed at him. It broke his heart. He was only trying to hold me close and snuggle me up a little bit, but I did not want to be held and then ran to my box. I am sorry I did that. I am just not myself anymore these days. So I followed him into his workshop just to be with him...I did not care that the big machines were making sawing and sanding noise...I just sat on the floor and by the food dishes. I ate a little bit and drank.

I got a message from my beloved husband cat Mickey last night...he tells me he is waiting for me. I am not afraid now. Your purrrrs comfort me. But for now...I stay. Mommy talks to me and cries into my furs...I just purr a little bit and stay awhile longer.

I wish I could spare you this picture...but the ravages of old age and a failing body are a sad fact of our lives at the cozy cottage now...

true to her unique style, Miss Peach always find HER special place to get over it! I am always more than happy to make my girl comfortable wherever she wants to be...

I can only say that we are moving slowly through our days stopping often just to reflect on blessings of love and visits from loving friends like you. Your love lifts us up into the sky like a bluebird taking flight in Spring...thank you for another day Lord.

Mommy told me it is world cat day today... To help me celebrate, she came and had her coffee and lemon cake with me in the auntie room. She sat on the carpet and I ate some foodies for her and even some Party Mix...it will be a wonderful day!Mommy made this collagey of beautiful kitties and found a wonderful poem to help us all celebrate today...I think all the kitties in the second row look like me!

Oh I'll get by with a little help from my friends is one of my favorite Ringo Starr songs...it applies so well to my days right now. I am so thankful for all of you and the love, comfort and well wishing prayers you are sending my way. Cole is with me this weekend and that makes me smile. I ate a little bit and am drinking my water. I surpised mommy this morning with some bit of poo in the litter box...it was a labor of love. We are happy for TIME...time to be quite, to sleep, to dream, to remember, to look forward to being with those you love! Bless all of your hearts for loving me...

My sweet friends...I have been spending much quiet time being thankful for every fine moment I have had so far in my life. My foodie sometimes tastes good and I do drink some water. The litter box is fresh and clean...

As you can see, mommy is loving me up so gently...you can see how tiny I am. Last night mommy slept on the floor in the office with me. It was like a camp out and nice to have mommy so close to me. I kept breathing in her face and she was happy about it! We covered up in the big bedspread and shared the pillow.
I feel all of your gentle purrrs and purrayers...they are precious gifts of love to me, mommy and Lapdaddy. Thank you for each and every word you leave us during this one day at a time journey. They warm our hearts with encouragment and comfort us in knowing that we are not alone...

ONCE UPON A TIME...A LITTLE RED CAT

came to live at the cozy cottage. That was exactly 10 years ago this month. She was a senior at 8 years old but we wanted her. She needed to do an important work for my dying mother. To fill her final days with a tender distraction. Miss Peach became a HOSPICE worker and made mother fall in love with her. Not an easy job because mother hated cats! They shared seven weeks together before the Lord released mother from her earthly pain. My brother Tony and sister Patty are all the family I have left...we live in the same town but seldom see each other due to work and life just happening. John Lennon once said, "Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans."My sister Patty called to see how things are going and I told her about sweet Peachy slowly failing. She loves this tiny cat...the last living connection to our mothers last days of happiness. Patty came right over and brought the beautiful purple blanket she made. We had coffee and chatted...then her cell phone rang. It was our brother Tony. Patty asking him to come over and see Peachy but he said he could not. Soon Patty had to go home and as she was leaving, we heard a voice in the driveway...it was my brother Tony! He came! I nearly cried...the three of us have not been together for 10 years since mother's last summer.
Then something really amazing happened...yes it gets better! For 10 years two boxes have sat on the top shelf in the auntie room...boxes that belonged to our mother that we have never unpacked. It seemed like the purrrrfect time to get them down and look inside. One box had a Japanese tea set in it and a German china set. The other box had the treasured photo albums that we thought had been lost many years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pictures of long lost days came flooding back into our minds. Our hearts shouted prayers of thanks for this family reunion and the recovery of memories long buried under cobwebs of our past.
My sister Patty with my Oma's photo album from the 1950's and my brother Tony with the little sled I used to pull him on during the winter's we spend living at our Oma and Opa's house in Bavaria...he could not believe I still had it in my garden shed.
This most unexpected amazing day was a gift to me...to all of us...from my beloved little Miss Peach. She brought us all together...she gave us unforgettable moments that we will always treasure. Miss Peach will leave a legacy of love that will sustain me during sad gray days with smiles in my heart...thank you my precious Peach.
UPDATE:
Tuesday evening: A tiny update...Miss Peach and I are resting on the sofa...most of the evening she lay with her Lapdaddy and that was so wonderful for all of us. I bathed her late this afternoon with just water and held her until she was dry infront of the fireplace. I told her what a good girl she has been to us here at the cozy cottage all these years. She then crawled up onto my arms and snuggled into my neck...I nearly lost it with happy tears. Later she ate and drank another little bit. But she can not go poop...she has no energy and strained so hard...it broke my heart to watch. I fear her system might be shutting down...but I do not know really. She did pee...that is good. I am waiting for her to wake up and I will put her into the little girls room and hope for more. A little food is waiting in the saucer too...it has been a good evening.Thank you all for your sweet thoughts and prayers...we can feel them. Love Karla and Lapdaddy

ANOTHER FEW LITTLE BITES AND A WHOLE SAUCER OF WATER!

My dearest friends...how happy all of your kind comments have made mommies worried heart. Today has been much the same as yesterday...I ate a few tiny bites. That made mommy smile. I went right back into my box when I was done...I just sit in there as you can see. Sometimes I fall asleep...then I hear mommy creeping up on me and listening to me breath and watching me...she is very sweet with me. I also know what mommy needs because I have a sixth sense...I arranged for something to happen for her today that she was longing for for many years...my being sick made this happen. There is always a silver lining to each gray cloud...and we will tell you more tomorrow. For now, I am resting until mommy comes creeping around me again. I love you all so much and am humbled by your comfort...

JUST A TINY BIT...

Our sweet little old girl ate just a tiny bit...first she licked the juice as I sat her on the counter...but I knew she would be more comfortable where she really wanted to be...in her litter girls room box. I put a sheet of paper down and place the silver spoon full of goodness for her to nibble on...I was happy that she was interested in taking a little bit of it...

THANK YOU all of our dearest friends for thinking about us during this time of uncertain moments...we are cuddling much and watching very close to what Peach tells us. Please know how thankful we are that we do not have to go through this alone...that you are with us...holding us up and helping us get through the days ahead. We treasure each and every comment you leave...with grateful hearts from the cozy cottage

VERY WORRIED TODAY...

We are sorry to write that we are quite worried about our dear Miss Peach. She has not wanted to eat for two days now. Her feet are very wobbly when she gets up and some of her breathing is labored at times...her frail tiny body is looks worn out. She does not seem to be in any pain and just wants to sit close to her Lapdaddy under her blanket...please give us your most powerful purrrrs. We fear that she might be being called from the rainbow bridge. We are so thankful for all the wonderful days we have had since Miss Peach became so sick when we first began blogging in 2007. My wish is that Peachy not suffer...As the days go by, she will let me know with her purrs and we will listen closely...for now, I will hold her close...my precious tiny girl.
