ON MOMMIES PRETTIES!!!

 I decided to try out the new spread mommy put on the sofa.  It is so soft and fluffy...and very pretty too.  I like looking at pretty things...I like roses.  Mommy does too...this has been a bad year for the roses in the cozy cottage summer garden.  We hope the coming winter will not be so harsh again...but for now, we long for autumn...glorious autumn in all her brilliance and with the cooler evenings where we can keep warm by the fireside.  Ahh glorious autumn...my soul is wedded to thee...

A FINE MONDAY TO YOU ALL....

Guess what I got to do?  GO OUTSIDE!  It is nice to smell the fresh air but I do have to keep a very watchful eye out for Scrappy Cat...she always wants to rearrange my furs....plus mommy is watching for me all the time through the big looking thing...

Well I have to tell you that not only was mommy on the telephone for long times last week...Lapdaddy went on the phone and talked and talked and talked alot too.... mommy hates the phone thing so I do not understand why they were talking so much...maybe I should pull the cord out of the wall...

LOOK INTO MY EYES...

 If you look close into my eyes, you will see that they are two different colors.  The top part of my eye is citrine yellow...the lower part of my eye is aquamarine blue.  I am not an odd eyed cat...but my eyes are odd...though VERY MYSTERIOUS!

Mommy was on the phone yesterday for 89 minutes...I wonder what she was talking about and to whom??

THE GOLDEN GLOW OF AUTUMN...

It is the most beautiful early autumn day today...I would love to go outside and wander around in the warm sunshine...but I dare not...danger is lurking somewhere out there! Scrappy Cat is waiting to punch me in the nose...I wish she would mellow out now that she has had her spa day she really should!

SUCH KINDNESS...

This is Spooky...he weighs 12 pounds! Dearest friends we thank you for all of your kind comments about not letting go of Miss Peach's things. She has so many wonderful things and we really do want to share them with those who loved her so much. Many of you suggested a chip in button on our side bar...but it seems that our side bar has mysteriously dropped to the bottom of our page and we do not know why....or how we can fix it back to where it needs to be. We won't get the Vet bills until the end of the month so that is good anyway. Another thing that is really good is to remember that it is better to be poor and happy than rich and miserable. Oh and another REALLY GOOD THING...I got to love on the old feral black kitten that Scrappy Cat had last summer! When he was still in his holding cage after the surgery...I slipped a bowl of food inside and he pushed against my hand...he didn't want the food but he wanted to rub on my hand. I gentle moved my fingers into his waiting furs and he began to purrrrrr!!!! That brought tears to my eyes. I now have the greatest hope to be friends with him like I did for our sweet Buddy... I have named him Spooky in honor of his sister Boo Boo who went over the rainbow bridge last weekend...we can all use some good mews and are happy to share this. Please keep our dearest ML in your prayers for a continued recovery and that darling Beau will find a furever home where he can be king of someone's heart once again.

TINY BOO BOO KITTEN IS IN HEAVEN....

Though there are tears in the night...rejoicing comes in the morning... We are sad beyond belief to have to tell you that precious BooBoo kitten went to heaven to be with our sweet Miss Peach. We wanted to give her a beautiful life in the cozy cottage garden after her spa day...but it was not to be. She went to sleep after the kind Vet determined she would never have a chance at growing up healthy due to a severe set of rib cage and sternum deformities. Scrappy Cat and Little Scrap...Lion and the black kitten Scrappy had last summer all are well after their spa day. It has been a long hard emotional weekend for us at the cozy cottage. We will take a few days to gather up our broken hearts and then ask for your help to get us by as the vet bills come in. We will auction off some of dear Miss Peach's food dishes, her tea pot and a blanket or two. Thank you for loving us so much and understanding our sadness...

ANOTHER UPDATE: We have mommy cat and the two kittens and Lion so far....now for the last kitten from last summer! Keep your paws crossed for us in this adventure!UPDATE: YEAH one kitten is in the trap! Now Lion has a baby close to him! Three more to go! Hello dear friends...today is the day we need to catch the garden kitties! Oh so far we have not had the best of luck...I tried to set the traps and rigged a string (biggy the picture and you can see the jerry rig string thingy) to pull once they are inside eating. It will make the door slide down and catch them safely... Boy oh boy is Scrappy Cat smart...she did not come by last night for the evening feeding. She kept her kittens safely hidden...sure do hope they will be good and hungry today. Her boyfriend Lion was not quite as smart...he is a guy after all. He went in and I pulled the string and it worked like a charm...down came the door. He is safe inside the garage now waiting for company from his family. Saturday morning is the spay and neuter clinic. Please keep your paws crossed for us today...we want to give these kitties a good chance at a happy kidden free life.

PRECIOUS GIFTS OF LOVE ARE ARRIVING...

So many wonderful gifts of love have come to comfort me at the cozy cottage this week...I will show you each one as days go by. Today you see the wonderful teddy bear from my friend Lorian Baker...he came with the sweetest card on glittery angel wings to bring tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. You see, Lorian collects teddy bears and I just know that this one came from her purrsonal collection. He is a very special bear because he comes from my homeland West Germany and he is very old. I bet she even bought him there too! How kind must a heart be to give over a beloved stuffy to soothe away the ache in someone's empty arms...I say off the scale kind because I now hold the fuzzy bear to my cheek and am thankful for my precious friend!

Hello everyone in Cat Blog Land...my name is Scrappy Cat and this is my family...I have a boyfriend name Lion and two kittens...Little Scrap who looks like me, and the black one mommy calls BooBoo because it is always scared. Truth be known...I am a little bit scared myself because of all the cages that have shown up on my deck this weekend. I do not know what is happening and I am worried. Will everything be alright with me and my kittens? Why is our kibble bowl inside of the smaller skinny cage? Things are not normal around the garden these days...
