MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

MONDAY MUSINGS AT THE COZY COTTAGE!

When I dream, I remember the Springtime Mickey first charmed me so as we wandered around in my cozy cottage garden...
Yes, I felt as if I were dancing with butterflies!
He was the purrrrfect gentleman as we spoke of life and things still to be...that was so long ago in 2007, yet it feels like only yesterday... Treasure life and all that it holds for you. Do not leave your songs unsung, do not sit out the dance and do not give up on your dreams...

CAT ART SUNDAY

Thank you Ann for another wonderful image...this one is my favorite!

More Photofunia fun! I love this fun site!

It is rainy here at the cozy cottage so purrrrrfect for sleeping by the fireplace. If only mommy would stop dropping ear medicine into my ears, all would be well. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone and thank you for loving me...

IN A BLUE MOOD TODAY!

Miss Hunny Bunny came inside the cozy cottage today. She likes to do that once a day or so. We want her to feel comfortable and loved. Many years ago mommy bought that painting above. A pure white kitty laying under a rose bush. Now we have a painting come to life with Hunny Bunny being the Queen of the cottage garden. I do not mind because I am the Queen of the cozy cottage and that will never change. She repects me and I ignor her... Gosh she has alot of fur.... mommy is going to get a brush for her because she has some mats in it....I would kill for enough fur to even get mats in....some things are not fair.

MAY FRIENDSHIPS WELL NEVER RUN DRY...

No greater love has he who helps carry his brothers burden...
Mom Robyn has created this stunning Rose Quartz heart pendant to raffle off to help pay for my upcoming 'Two For The Price Of One Surgery'. The cost of tickets is only $2.50 for a chance to win this beautiful gem stone so lovingly created in a Victorian style real silver setting. I am very grateful for the help in paying for this very expensive surgery. Please click here or on the photos and it will take you to the site to buy your ticket. This is the back side...
I like to look like a proper Victorian lady cat, so my Lapdaddy made this pretty picture of me. It makes me feel pretty, even if my tummy does not right now. Mommy said I should show you what it looks like so you can see what you are investing in. Maybe tomorrow. I have to think about exposing my tummy in public. What might Mickey think... Well, I am going to look at this whole ordeal as a tummy tuck, even if at four and a half pounds, I am not a fat cat.
Oh and this is my real name, my aristocratic title!

IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT COFFEE TODAY!!

Now I want you to see what came in the mail for me yesterday. My very talented friend Miss Valery sent me this adorable peach colored rose to cheer me up. It smells so good, just like a real rose. Guess what? It is made out of coffee filters!!! Can you believe it!? Lapdaddy got fooled because he thought it was REAL. Miss Valery also sent me these vintage butterflies she made to decorate my stove with. She knows just how to make my little spot as cozy as can be. She is an interior designer and know about such things. Thank you so very much...I love you Miss Valery. Mommy got some dried rose petals and a lovely silver vanity box. Inside was a butterfly hair clip that made her go, "Squeeeeeee!" We will show you that later. Today it is all about ME...I told mommy I want her to find a peachy colored rose just like the coffee filter one and plant in front of my living room window. She wants some silly purpley blue one called 'Veilchenblau'. I will put my velvet paw down this time and get my way. Stay tuned for the search results...

To fix a good cuppa coffee here at the cozy cottage we need coffee filters and a grinder machine thingie to make a fine grind. Mommy like her cuppa nice and strong with lots of creme and sugar. Well, today I want to tell you that my good friend Mr. Whiskers, who live in Honolulu, gave me the best tip ever! He said for me to grind up my Party Mix in a coffee grinder and sprinkle it into and over my Fancy Feast. How clever is that?! Mommy has two grinders, so she tried it out and as you can see I snoopervised....it works, I love it, problem solved! Now when they pull out my teef next month, I can still enjoy my favorite treat.

I had a good day today...eating well and resting a lot. I even slept in my litter box after Lapdaddy changed out the litter. It is very cold and windy here right now...very March weather. Mommy has a bad sore throat...the lady next to her in church Sunday kept coughing in her direction! Maybe I should make her a nice hot cuppa coffee...."Now which coffee grinder should I use again mommy? Do you want Party Mix flavored coffee?"

PS: Did you know that mommy is very crabby when she gets up until she has her coffee?

CATS 101

Last night my sweet Lapdaddy and I watched the coolest program on our TV. It was called CATS 101. WOW I have never seen such cool cats. We learned so much about different breeds. We even saw Saschi and Goma and learned all about how he got to be so famous. It was a purrrrfect way to end the day. Being held in the arms of love, knowing that we CATS are amazing creatures! I have been eating really well....I think mommy is trying to fatten me up for my upcoming surgery so I can be strong and recover well. I just don't know how I can live without my Party Mix!!! Do they make cat dentures?

THE BEST PLACE IN MY WORLD....

I have the best most loving Lapdaddy in the whole world. He soothes my sore ears just right and lets me rub them on him for comfort. What could be better... Well, yesterday it rained and rained. Mommy bought a red twig dogwood for the back garden because the twigs are pretty red in winter, they get white berries for the birds to eat in autumn, and tiny flowers in springtime. In the summer their leaves are green edged with white! How pretty it will look in each season... We love the changes from one holiday to another. You can see we still have our Valentine's hearts up and mommy already brought out the Easter bunny pillow... I just wish it were next month at this time, then my surgery would be over and I could get back to making wedding plans with my dreamboat Mickey. I want to thank all of you for your kind visits and well wishes...they touch and comfort me so much...
HAPPY MONDAY first week of Spring!

A MOST REWARDING SATURDAY AT THE COZY COTTAGE!

I can not thank all of you enough for your sweet visits. Your words of comfort and encouragement mean the world to me. Mommy is touched by all of your concern for my upcoming operations. I am a tough fighter as you all well know. I have been taking my medicine to get my ear infections under control...yep...both ears! The rest of the time I spend on my heated pad in front of the fire place on top of my fuzzy light blue blanket. It's a good thing! I wanted to thank all of you who have honored me with awards this year. So many different pretty awards. I am humbled and touched by them. Please take any or all of these awards for your blog as a thank you from my strong tiny heart...especially the first one that came from Ariel!

Thank you Dutchess for this fancy shoe...I wonder how they would look with my wedding gown?

Camie and her kitties gave me this colorful blog badge...
This interesting blog charm came from the delightful fairy Cielo at the house of roses.
This lemonade stand came from Anhel & Wizard and those cool 'Four Cats Roughing It'
Hearts full of friendship came from Mr. Chen & Ollie, The Boy and my Dutchess
Miss Michelle from Boulderneigh Farms thinks my blog is fabulous!

I WISH I WERE BETTER....ON THIS FIRST DAY OF SPRING.

Happy First Day Of Spring! I let mommy give me my ear medicine without too much fuss. It tickles...then I shake my head all over the place. I am resting well and not in the mood for anything. I do thank all of you for your sweet visits, the well wishes, purrrs and love you have been dropping by at the cozy cottage. It means so much to me to have wonderfur friends like you.
Update Thursday evening: I have been pretty healthy up until now, with the exception when I almost died two years ago in October. All of your love and purrrs pulled me throught that scair. Now I have to ask for them once again. We have a date set for the surgery on Tuesday April 14th. I would rather be setting a wedding date! This makes me all a little bit crabilated. To top it all off, mommy took away my dry crunchies so I would not hurt my teeth any more. No fair, no good. They said I have a strong heart....but the rest of the story is not good.

Thursday morning: I am back from the Vet. I was very sciart but they were so nice and gentle with me. I am sorry to say that the news is not very good. I have an ear infection in both ears. They gave me two huge bottles of medicine for them. Being a 16 year old cat, they said I am still in fair shape, considering the shape I am in. I will have to have many of my teeth taken out. But that is not the worst of it. The tumor on my tummy is getting bigger and they want to take it away also, so I might have a little longer life. There is another small one growing there too and a tiny one on my tail. I would much rather be making wedding plans than surgery plans. I am feeling very sad..and mommy is very worried about all of these things happening at once to an old cat like me.

WORDLESS (ALMOST) WEDNESDAY AT THE COZY COTTAGE...

The very talented Ann from Zoolatry captures me at my best....I look like I have a starring role in the movie, "It's raining cats and....." Well, tomorrow is the dreaded day that I have to go to the Vet. Mommy will have him check me very carefully. I have a lot of issues that I have never told anyone about yet. I need to be in tip top shape for my upcoming wedding to my dreamboat Mickey, so I will just consider this a tune up trip. Please keep your paws crossed for me....

TOP O THE MORNIN TO YA LOVIE!

Mickey and I are off to eat some corned beef and dance a few jigs...do I look Irish with my green gown and red hair? Oh what a handsome mancat I have by my side.....
Here I am looking rather out of sorts...stuffed between two of mommies Irish ATC's...

Guess what mommy did to me last night? As if having an ear infection isn't bad enough....she gave me a bath! I screamed in protest but to no avail! Even Lapdaddy had to help by bringing me a nice warm, fresh from the dryer, blanket to dry me off in. I soon fell asleep infront of the warm fireplace....and am still there.
Mommy Karla here: Yes, Miss Peach has an ear infection. Lots of wax build up plugged up deep inside and caused an infection beneath the hard wax. She shook her head like mad and scratched her ear raw, so I gave her a bath to soothe her neck and clean the ear what I could see. I also cut her nails as she had wax build up on them from all the scratching. I will keep a close eye on her until we see the Vet. I hate that my tiny girl is not feeling well. She never complains but came to sit in my lap Sunday night and began to tell me her woes... I told her all will be well in time for her big wedding day and she smiled and went to sleep in my arms.

Wishing you all a very HAPPY SAINT PATRICKS DAY! We will be watching our favorite movie THE QUIET MAN with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara...it is our tradition!

A LOVE OF A LIFETIME WEDDING...

I am so pleased to announce that on this day, Monday March 16th 2009, my dearest friend Normie's mommy and daddy are getting married. He is watching them from Heaven and sends this shamrock blessing down to them.... Miss Joan marries her best friend Mr. Stan...

PERHAPS LOVE

Perhaps love is like a resting place
A shelter from the storm
It exists to give you comfort
It is there to keep you warm
And in these time of trouble
When you are most alone
The memory of love will bring you home

Perhaps love is like a window
Perhaps an open door
It invites you to come closer
It wants you to show you more
and even when you lose yourself
And dont know what to do
The memory of love will see you through

Oh, love to some is like cloud
To some as strong as steel
For some a way of living
For some a way of feel
And some say love holding on
And some say letting go
And some love is everything
And some say that they dont know

Perhaps love is like the ocean
Full of conflict full of pain
Like a fire when its cold outside
Or thunder when it rains
If I should live forever
And all my dreams come true
My memories of love will be of you

And some say love is holding on
And some say letting go
And some say love is everything
And some say that they dont know...

~GOD BLESS THEIR LOVE~

CAT ART SUNDAY~PUZZLED

Last Sunday when mommy featured Kim Jacobs new book COTTAGE CATS on her blog, she never thought something out of the ordinary would happen to her. But it did. After church before lunch, she always stop at a tiny second hand shop for a quick browse. As she was strolling the isles, she was thinking about her mommy and the fun they used to have each Sunday working pretty puzzles together. She has not worked a puzzle since her mommy went to heaven in 2001 when I cam here to live with her. As she turned a corner, there on the shelf she saw a familar box sitting that said COBBLESTONE WAY... A beautiful puzzle with the art of Kim Jacobs! She knew this was heaven sent and scooped it up like a lost child. So now it sits on the dining room table and will become the first puzzle she ever finished by herself. Oh but I will help with a piece or two and Cole comes after school to help also. Once we are done, the puzzle will be glued to wood and framed up to display in the cozy cottage or maybe out on the summer patio where I spend all of my time...we are just happy that all things come full circle and everything is interconnected in our lives. We hope you have a wonderful Sunday. PLEASE come back to see me tomorrow because my best friends Joan and Stan are getting married. They are the beans who loved my best friend Normie who went to the rainbow bridge last month. I will have a little Irish ceremony for them here and you are ALL invited to attend....wearing green is optional.
